Many countries require international students to have more than 10.000 USD in their account when applying for a visa, some countries only require 1.000-3.000 USD.
When applying for a student visa, international students often have to prove their finances. This is an amount of money in the account that shows they can secure a life abroad.
The level of financial proof for international students in the US is different, based on the cost of studying for a year at each school. According to ICEF Monitors, an international education information site, this level is up to 70.000 USD (about 1,77 billion VND) for top private universities. This is also the highest level currently.
Followed by Switzerland, which requires international students to have at least 23.000 USD in their account to be granted a visa. Other study abroad powers such as Australia, Canada, England, Korea, Japan... offer 10.000-15.000 USD.
The lowest requirements are Czech, Chinese and Italian, about 1.000-3.000 USD.

Overall, financial proof levels in Canada, Australia and the US increased.
Since October last year, international students wanting to come to Australia must have 10 AUD (nearly 24.505 USD) in their account, an increase of 16.000% compared to the previous level. In Canada, since the beginning of this year, this level is 17 CAD (20.600 USD), double the old level that has existed for decades.
This requirement is said to help international students cover expenses during their studies and avoid labor exploitation when working part-time. In addition, the two countries want to reduce the number of immigrants, including those who take advantage of studying abroad to enter the country.
In the US, costs and tuition at universities have increased continuously in recent years. Therefore, the level of financial proof also increases.
In contrast, South Korea decreased by 25%, down to 15.000 USD from the middle of last year.
Vietnam currently has more than 132.000 international students, ranking first among Southeast Asian countries, according to UNESCO statistics. The top destinations for Vietnamese people are Japan, Korea, America, Australia and Canada.
ICEF Monitor identifies Vietnam as being in the top 10 markets in the world in terms of student mobility abroad. In 2023, Vietnamese people will be in the top 5 in the number of international students in the US, top 2 in Japan, top 6 in Australia, and number 1 in Korea.
