The U.S. military on June 5 (local time) attacked “coastal radar surveillance sites” in Iran after shooting down four Iranian drones, according to the U.S. Central Command.
“The attack drones posed an immediate threat to maritime traffic in the area. U.S. forces subsequently attacked Iranian coastal surveillance radar sites in Goruk and on Qeshm Island in defense of further attacks,” CENTCOM said in a post on X.
The military stated it would continue to respond to "Iran's unjustified aggression in self-defense."

Iran fired "warning shots" near the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran's Mehr news agency reported on Saturday that Tehran fired several shots as a "warning" near the Strait of Hormuz. The shots "may be related" to the repositioning of US naval vessels in the area.
This news comes amid reports from a U.S. official that Iran has launched multiple drones toward the strait.
According to Mehr , the target of the Iranian shelling was at sea, off Larak Island – a small island off the coast of Iran's strategic port city of Bandar Abbas.

This decision was made after Khamenei approved a clemency request from the head of Iran's Justice Department, Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei. The majority of the prisoners included in the decision will be released immediately.
According to other media reports, this amnesty excludes prisoners convicted of crimes related to national security, including espionage.
The wave of arrests in Iran has increased, with thousands detained since nationwide protests erupted last December. The protest movement is taking place against the backdrop of a worsening economic crisis in the country, exacerbated by decades of US sanctions.
