On March 9th, CNA Life reported that singer Vidi Aldiano (full name Oxavia Aldiano) passed away on March 7th at the age of 36 after a long battle with cancer.

In 2019, he revealed he had stage 3 cancer in his left kidney and subsequently underwent surgery in Singapore to remove the kidney. The initial surgery was successful, but in 2023, the singer stated that the disease had recurred and metastasized to other parts of his body.

Despite ongoing treatment, Vidi Aldiano remains active in the music and entertainment industry. On his personal Instagram account, he regularly updates his health status with an optimistic spirit.

In a previous post, the singer shared that the illness had taught him patience, gratitude, and a positive outlook on challenges.

The passing of Vidi Aldiano prompted many Indonesian artists to express their condolences on social media. Singer and actor Afgan, MC Deddy Corbuzier, and singer Bunga Citra Lestari all posted tributes to him. The singer's funeral was held on the morning of March 8th in Jakarta.
