Improving the quality of stroke care

The stroke care project implemented by Humanity & Inclusion (HI) in collaboration with Bach Mai Hospital (Hanoi) officially ended its 2-year cooperation in August this year, within the framework of a 10-year project funded by the US Department of State to improve the quality of life for people with severe disabilities.

Over the past two years, the project has contributed to improving the capacity of 128 medical and rehabilitation experts through supporting doctors and nurses to study abroad; supporting advanced medical and rehabilitation equipment; strengthening the professional cooperation network with regional and international partners; improving the research capacity on stroke care of Bach Mai Hospital, thereby supporting about 1,500 stroke survivors to date.

According to Associate Professor Dao Xuan Co, Director of Bach Mai Hospital, the project has contributed to improving the capacity for high-quality stroke care at Bach Mai Hospital, aiming to replicate this model in provincial hospitals, expanding stroke prevention and treatment activities nationwide.
