Improving the quality of care for stroke patients.

The stroke care project, implemented by Humanity & Inclusion (HI) in collaboration with Bach Mai Hospital (Hanoi), officially concluded its two-year partnership in August this year, as part of a 10-year project funded by the US Department of State aimed at improving the quality of life for people with severe disabilities.

Over the past two years, the project has contributed to enhancing the capacity of 128 medical and rehabilitation professionals through supporting doctors and nurses to receive training abroad; providing advanced medical and rehabilitation equipment; strengthening professional cooperation networks with regional and international partners; and improving the research capacity on stroke care at Bach Mai Hospital, thereby supporting approximately 1,500 stroke survivors to date.

According to Associate Professor Dao Xuan Co, Director of Bach Mai Hospital, the project has contributed to improving the capacity for high-quality stroke care at Bach Mai Hospital, aiming to replicate this model in provincial hospitals and expand stroke prevention and treatment activities nationwide.
