In Hoang Luu commune, the area for growing vegetables is managed through production partnerships with businesses that also guarantee the purchase of the produce.
In Hoang Luu commune (Hoang Hoa district), based on its potential and strengths, the commune has encouraged people to actively transform the crop structure and consolidate land for large-scale production. The commune has promoted the comprehensive mechanization of the production process, converting about 20 hectares of low-yield rice land to a rice-fish-fruit tree model, bringing economic efficiency 2 to 3 times higher. At the same time, it has developed about 100 hectares of commercial agricultural production, applying high technology or following high-tech directions. For aquaculture, the commune has expanded the farming area to about 165 hectares; The authorities encouraged people to invest in developing about 24 hectares of high-tech farming on tarpaulins and in greenhouses... Mr. Nguyen Van Bon, a resident of Nghia Lap village, said: "With the guidance of the commune in building a production model, I brought asparagus to try planting it, and at the same time applied science and technology to the stages of planting, caring for, and harvesting the product. Asparagus yields a harvest continuously for 20 days/month, and I harvest an average of 300kg each month, with revenue reaching hundreds of millions of VND/year."
Besides agricultural production, the commune has more than 235 individual business households, many of which operate effectively in the production of non-fired bricks, carpentry, metalworking, welding, rattan and bamboo weaving, etc., contributing to job creation and increased income for workers. According to the Chairman of the Commune People's Committee, Luu Ngoc Hanh: "The development of diverse rural industries has promoted a positive shift in the local economic structure; contributing to raising the income of people in the commune to 67 million VND/person/year."
Besides communes with favorable conditions for agricultural development, many localities in the province are developing traditional crafts to create jobs and stabilize people's lives, such as bronze casting in Tra Dong and Thieu Trung (Thieu Hoa), rattan and bamboo weaving in Hoang Thinh, carpentry in Hoang Dat (Hoang Hoa), Tu Tru sticky rice cake (Tho Xuan), and Nga Son sedge mat weaving...
In Tho Xuan district, to increase the income of people in traditional craft villages, through various programs and projects, the district integrates funding to encourage production facilities to invest in modern machinery, aiming to improve labor productivity, product quality, and market competitiveness; especially creating conditions to support market development for the district's distinctive traditional products. To date, traditional craft villages such as Tu Tru sticky rice cake, rake-shaped leaf cake, peanut candy production, conical hat making, etc., have been developing well, have stable markets, and contribute to job creation for workers. Mr. Ha Cong Tien, owner of a woodworking production facility in Thuan Minh commune, said: "Not only preserving and developing the local traditional craft, carpentry is considered a key sector in the commune's economic development, currently providing jobs for more than 1,000 local workers."
Developing production to increase income is no longer a "difficult problem" in rural areas. The issue is that localities must know how to more effectively exploit land potential through investment in building advanced agricultural production models, linking production with processing and product consumption. Along with that, they must innovate and improve the efficiency of cooperatives...
