Every time I travel for work and meet colleagues from other provinces and cities, they ask where I'm from. I proudly say that I'm from a land of endless sand dunes, where the "Lao wind and white sand" have become a defining characteristic for every child born there.
From a young age, I had a tanned complexion. However, I was very proud of my skin. I loved the sun, so throughout my childhood I spent my days playing with my friends on hot summer afternoons, often getting scolded by my parents. Later, with my career in journalism, I experienced the sun even more. From the bright white sunlight of winter, the golden rays of autumn, the warm rays of spring, and the brilliant golden sun of summer.

It's strange that despite the scorching summer sun, many flowers still choose this season to bloom. From the golden cassia to the red flamboyant tree or the delicate crape myrtle… Walking under the bright summer sun, with flowers lining both sides of the road, you, like me, find life vibrant and joyful amidst all the hustle and bustle.

Mentioning summer in the land of endless sand dunes might make many people hesitate. But that's just a story of the old days, when the women of the fishing villages had to walk barefoot across the vast sand dunes to bring fish to the district market. Now, that road has been paved with asphalt, wide and long, running straight from the fishing village to the national highway.
The once barren sandy countryside has become the destination for large-scale, high-potential projects in Quang Tri province. Recently, we had the opportunity to report on the Cam Lien Industrial Park Infrastructure Investment and Construction Project. 450 hectares of former sandy wasteland have been transformed into a key project, oriented towards development as a modern, green, and sustainable multi-sector industrial park, meeting the demands of industrial development in the new era.

Under the scorching sun exceeding 40°C, officials, engineers, and workers are still diligently working at the construction site. Mr. Chu Duc Tuan, Director of Capella Quang Binh Investment Co., Ltd., said that with the current rapid construction progress of "3 shifts, 4 teams," they anticipate welcoming businesses and investors to the Cam Lien Industrial Park in the fourth quarter of 2026.
White sand and golden sunshine have become the tourism trademark of Quang Tri province during the summer months, with its long, beautiful beaches offering countless exciting activities that every visitor will love.

Returning to the topic of sunshine, my friend is enjoying the summer days in the southern part of Quang Tri province. Looking at the photos she sent, I see she's both visiting old battlefields and admiring the lotus flowers in full bloom during the summer – truly relaxing and peaceful!
I love the sunshine, and so I love my work trips to all corners of the country. On those trips, I met farmers in the fields, workers and engineers working on construction sites... their sweat glistening on their radiant faces, helping me understand more about the true value of life. And I love even more the brilliant summer sunshine in my homeland of "Lao winds and white sands."
