As a beautiful expression of the tradition of remembering one's roots, every year during the period leading up to the Lunar New Year, the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, and the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee organize delegations to visit and pay profound gratitude to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives to bring about peace , independence, and freedom.

A heartfelt tribute of gratitude.

Over two days, January 3-4, a delegation from the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Council, Provincial People's Committee, and Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, led by Comrade Dau Thanh Tung, Provincial Party Committee member and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, laid wreaths and offered incense at the tomb of General Vo Nguyen Giap, Tho Loc Martyrs' Cemetery, the Temple of Heroes and Martyrs of the Road 20 Quyet Thang, Tam Co Cave, and the Y Ta Cave historical site ( Quang Binh province). In the photo, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dau Thanh Tung adjusts the wreath at the Temple of Heroes and Martyrs of the Road 20 Quyet Thang. The temple still preserves the remaining relics of the eight young volunteers from Hoang Hoa district who sacrificed their lives at Tam Co Cave in 1972.

A heartfelt tribute of gratitude.

The delegation also visited the fallen heroes resting at the Truong Son National Martyrs Cemetery, the Highway 9 National Martyrs Cemetery, the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel National Special Monument, the Vinh Linh Martyrs Cemetery, and the Mai Quoc Ca Platoon Memorial (Quang Tri province). Each monument and cemetery tells a sacred story of the bravery, courage in battle, and heroic sacrifice of the soldiers of "Uncle Ho's Army." They have written a shining symbol of the immortal spirit of protecting the Fatherland, peace, independence, and freedom. And in that story, there is always a part of the sons and daughters of Thanh Hoa province. In the photo, the delegation observes a moment of silence at the Monument to the fallen heroes in the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel National Special Monument.

Like the story of the heroic Mai Quoc Ca Platoon. The platoon consisted of 20 men, more than half of whom were from Thanh Hoa province, led by Platoon Leader Mai Quoc Ca, originally from Ha Trung district. During the fiery summer of 1972, the platoon volunteered for a suicidal mission, eliminating 125 enemy soldiers and numerous military vehicles. In that unequal battle, almost the entire platoon perished, writing an immortal epic of unwavering courage and indomitable spirit in the fight for independence, freedom for the Fatherland, and happiness for the people. In the photo, the Thanh Hoa Provincial delegation lays flowers and incense at the Mai Quoc Ca Platoon Memorial by the Thach Han River. The memorial features 19 hearts, symbolizing the 19 brave soldiers of the platoon who sacrificed their lives.

A heartfelt tribute of gratitude.

At the Trường Sơn, Đường 9, and Vĩnh Linh martyrs' cemeteries, the majority of the graves belong to martyrs from Thanh Hóa province. In a solemn and moving atmosphere, the delegation from the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Council, Provincial People's Committee, and Provincial Fatherland Front Committee respectfully expressed their profound gratitude to those who sacrificed their lives and blood for the unification of the country, peace, and the freedom and happiness of the people. In the photo, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Đầu Thanh Tùng and the Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs ring the bell nine times to pay respects to the heroic martyrs at the Trường Sơn National Martyrs' Cemetery.

A heartfelt tribute of gratitude.

With profound respect and boundless gratitude, and in appreciation of the sons and daughters of Thanh Hoa who sacrificed themselves for the country, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Delegation offered incense at each of the graves of martyrs from Thanh Hoa resting in the cemeteries. In the photo, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dau Thanh Tung offers incense at the graves of martyrs from Thanh Hoa in the Truong Son National Martyrs Cemetery.

A heartfelt tribute of gratitude.

Offering incense at the martyrs' graves just before Tet (Lunar New Year) was not only a responsibility for many members of the delegation, but also filled them with deep emotion and pride. Many members shared that they had done something meaningful, contributing to comforting and consoling those who sacrificed themselves for the Fatherland so that today we can enjoy peace, independence, and freedom. In the photo, Ms. Vu Thi Huong, Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, and members of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Delegation offer incense at the Vinh Linh Martyrs' Cemetery.

A heartfelt tribute of gratitude.

Thus, organizing delegations to visit and pay deep respects to the heroic martyrs at historical sites and cemeteries in the days leading up to the Lunar New Year has become a beautiful tradition of remembering one's roots. It reminds those of today and tomorrow to cherish the value of life and to be grateful to their ancestors who dedicated their blood, bones, and youth to the peace, independence, and freedom we enjoy today.
