In reality, many new urban areas demonstrate that what makes a community vibrant is not just wide roads or beautiful houses, but also how people connect with each other, share, and build a new way of life together.
In the summer, along many streets in urban areas of Thai Nguyen , rows of mango trees planted for shade also enter their fruiting season. Instead of letting the ripe fruit fall to the ground, the Management Board of Danko City urban area (Linh Son ward) organized a "Mango Picking Festival," turning the fruit into a bridge connecting residents. Laughter and lively conversations fill the air under the cool, green mango trees.
Adults pick the fruit, children eagerly run after them, families prepare dishes together, display their produce, and participate in group games, fostering community bonding. In this activity, the most valuable thing is not the baskets full of mangoes, but the gatherings.
People who previously only knew each other through nods in elevators or quick greetings on sidewalks now have the opportunity to chat, work together, and understand each other better.
The fostering of camaraderie among residents is also a recurring theme in many other urban areas of Thai Nguyen. Each newly formed urban area creates a new community, where residents come from diverse backgrounds, professions, and circumstances. This connection is built through shared activities and mutual support in daily life.
Picenza 1 urban area, located in Gia Bay residential group, Linh Son ward, is a prime example. The modern rows of houses on the left bank of the Cau River not only create a new urban landscape but also foster a civilized and close-knit community.
Ms. Nong Hong Thinh, a resident of the urban area, said: "Since the urban area became densely populated, families have proactively participated in activities of community organizations such as the Women's Association, the Senior Citizens' Association, and the Fatherland Front... These activities have created a bond between people who were once strangers. When there are joyful events, sad occasions, or natural disasters like floods, everyone is ready to help each other."
To maintain that cohesion, the role of neighborhood committees and community organizations is crucial. Movements in arts, sports , environmental sanitation, landscaping, and charitable activities all receive positive responses from the residents.
Mr. Nguyen Nhu Hai, head of the Gia Bay residential group, commented: "Residents of Picenza 1 urban area always strictly adhere to the Party's guidelines, the State's policies and laws, and the regulations of the residential group. It's very encouraging that there is no discrimination between old and new residents; everyone works together to build a civilized living environment."
The "village life" of the city is no longer the familiar banyan tree, riverside, or narrow alleyway. Instead, it's about community festivals, weekend clean-up sessions, helping families in need, or simply exchanging greetings and inquiries between neighbors.
