DTO - This season, in the rice fields of Long Thuan and Phu Thuan communes in Hong Nguy district, the winter-spring rice crop is ripening to a golden yellow, ready for harvest. This is also the time when the ox-drawn cart business is bustling. Although not many, each family with 1-2 ox carts can earn a decent income.

The activity of hauling rice by ox carts is bustling in Phu Thuan commune.
On average, one ox cart can pull about 10 sacks of rice per trip, and they make many trips a day. The transportation fee for each sack of rice from the fields to the collection point ranges from 8,000 to 10,000 VND, allowing those who work as ox cart pullers to earn several hundred thousand VND per day. The image of ox carts lined up carrying rice evokes a rustic, familiar scene of rural life and farming in the Mekong Delta. After each rice hauling trip, the oxen rest in the water to prepare for the next day's rice hauling journey.
