(CLO) On the evening of February 11th (the 14th day of the first lunar month), the Tran Temple - Thap Pagoda Historical and Cultural Relic Site in Loc Vuong Ward, Nam Dinh City, held the 2025 Tran Temple Seal Opening Ceremony. This traditional ritual carries sacred significance, praying for national peace and prosperity, and promoting profound cultural and historical educational values.

Sacred Ceremony of Opening the Seal

On the evening of February 11th, the weather in Nam Dinh was cool and dry, ideal for tourists to enjoy the spring festivities and participate in the celebrations. As night fell, the crowds flocking to Tran Temple grew larger, eager to witness the sacred seal-opening ceremony and seek blessings for the new year, hoping for a prosperous and successful year ahead.

According to Mr. Nguyen Duc Binh, Head of the Management Board of the Tran Temple - Thap Pagoda Historical and Cultural Relic Area, the Seal Opening Ceremony holds profound humanistic value with the meaning of "Accumulating boundless blessings," reflecting the spirit of preserving family traditions and accumulating blessings for future generations to enjoy lasting prosperity. This is not only a sacred ritual but also an attractive cultural and spiritual tourism destination for visitors.

From 10:40 PM onwards, the solemn procession of the royal seal palanquin from Co Trach Temple to Thien Truong Temple took place. In this sacred space, the leaders of the Nam Dinh City People's Committee delivered speeches praising the achievements of the Tran Dynasty and affirming the important significance of the festival.

At 11:15 PM, the official Seal Opening Ceremony was held. Fourteen elderly people, along with representatives from various departments and agencies, proceeded to stamp the seals onto the yellow paper seals, which were then offered to the temples and pagodas in the area.

From 11:55 PM, Tran Temple reopened its doors for locals and tourists to enter and perform rituals. From 5:00 AM on February 12th (the 15th day of the first lunar month), the temple organized the distribution of amulets at designated locations to serve those who wished to receive amulets at the beginning of the year.

Traditional festival with many unique activities

The Tran Temple Opening Ceremony is one of Nam Dinh's typical spring festivals, attracting tens of thousands of visitors every year. This year, the Festival Center project has been largely completed, providing a more sacred and spacious environment for festival activities.

Many unique cultural and artistic activities were organized, such as water puppetry, lion and dragon dance, cockfighting, human chess, OCOP product exhibition, historical photo exhibition "Thanh Nam: Milestones in History," and a display of beautiful tourism photos of Nam Dinh.

To ensure safety, the Nam Dinh Provincial Police mobilized more than 2,500 officers and soldiers, divided into multiple security rings, to manage traffic flow, prevent crime, maintain order, and ensure fire safety.

During the ceremony, traffic police organized traffic control from a distance, restricting large vehicles from entering the festival area to ensure smooth movement for visitors.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhu, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nam Dinh City, emphasized that the work of ensuring environmental hygiene, health, and food safety is being strictly implemented. The organizing committee is also strengthening inspections and strictly handling violations to create a positive impression on tourists and preserve and promote the traditional cultural beauty of the Tran Temple Opening Ceremony.

With its profound significance and well-organized structure, the 2025 Tran Temple Seal Opening Festival continues to be an important highlight in the spiritual and cultural life of the people, affirming Nam Dinh's position on the map of spiritual tourism in Vietnam.
