Neymar is being sued by a woman for allegedly forcing him to work excessive hours. |
According to documents filed with Brazil's District 1 Labor Court, the woman worked for Neymar at the Casa Hotel Portobello in Mangaratiba, Rio de Janeiro state. This is where Neymar owns two villas and frequently hosts gatherings with friends.
The chef stated that she would be working there from July 2025 to February 2026. According to the original contract, working hours were stipulated from 7 am to 5 pm Monday to Thursday, and from 7 am to 4 pm on Friday.
However, the woman claims that the actual working hours were much longer than agreed upon. According to the lawsuit, she frequently had to work until 11 p.m. or midnight, even on weekends. On many days, the working hours allegedly extended to 16 hours.
Her job involved not only serving Neymar but also preparing food for a group of friends and colleagues, potentially numbering around 150 people. The heavy workload required her to carry heavy pieces of meat weighing around 10 kg, unload numerous bags of food, and stand for long periods.
According to the lawsuit, these demands caused her health problems, including back pain and hip arthritis.
This woman earns approximately 7,500 Brazilian real per month, equivalent to about £1,065. She is seeking compensation of around 262,000 real, including overtime pay, unpaid leave pay, medical expenses, and other compensation.
Neymar has not yet commented on the matter.
