The Ukrainian Air Force said Russia launched nearly 500 drones and more than 70 missiles toward the country in a “large-scale coordinated attack,” targeting Kyiv from multiple directions.

Most of the missiles and drones were intercepted, but a total of 33 objects hit their targets.
Ukrainian authorities said 110 emergency rescue teams had been deployed to 59 locations across the city to deal with the aftermath of the attack.

Search and rescue operations are still ongoing, with fears that many people may still be buried under the rubble.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said the attacks damaged more than 20 locations across Kyiv, “mostly ordinary residential buildings,” as well as an ambulance, a research institute, a hotel, and other businesses.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that its military had launched a large-scale offensive using long-range, high-precision weapons, including drones, in response to Ukrainian attacks on civilian infrastructure on Russian territory.
