According to TASS news agency, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov told reporters on May 27 that the country's air defenses intercepted two Storm Shadow long-range cruise missiles, 19 other missiles launched from HIMARS multiple launch systems, and two HARM anti-radar missiles.

Storm Shadow is a renowned British super-missile, which the UK provided to Ukraine in early May; meanwhile, HIMARS is a highly mobile multiple rocket launcher system, and HARM is a tactical air-to-ground missile, both manufactured and supplied to Ukraine by the US.
Konashenkov stated that all of the aforementioned missiles were intercepted within the past 24 hours, and that 12 Ukrainian drones were also shot down in various regions including Lugansk, Donetsk, and Zaporozhye.
Meanwhile, RT quoted two anonymous German military "insiders" in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung as saying that Ukraine is requesting aid in the form of Swedish-German Taurus missiles.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reportedly made the proposal during a meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz earlier this month.
RT reported that it remains unclear whether Berlin will approve the request, but suggested that it puts Berlin in a "dilemma," due to concerns that such weapons could escalate tensions.
The Taurus is a weapon capable of traveling up to 500 km and equipped with a 500 kg warhead, powerful enough to reach Moscow from across the Ukrainian border. Previously, the Russian Foreign Ministry condemned the UK for supplying Ukraine with the Storm Shadow, which has a range of 250 km.
