Often referred to as the "Green Gem" of Ha Tinh province, Vu Quang National Park – an ASEAN Heritage Park – is home to many species of flora and fauna with a diverse ecosystem.
Vu Quang National Park encompasses the entire Ngan Truoi River basin – a majestic river flowing through the Truong Son mountain range. In its upper reaches, the Ngan Truoi River is likened to a giant snake winding its way through rugged mountains. Downstream, the Ngan Truoi Lake, formed in late 2017 after eight years of construction, has become Vietnam's third largest reservoir. With an area of approximately 40 square kilometers, Ngan Truoi Lake not only provides water for agriculture , industry, aquaculture, and daily life, ensuring ecological balance, but also boasts a picturesque river landscape amidst towering mountains.
