'Clams, oysters, and mussels' are coming to the big screen.
Director Duc Thinh has just returned with the film project 'Trum So', scheduled to be released nationwide from April 24th.
According to the production team, this comedy film is inspired by the character of Trùm Sò – a symbol of stinginess – from the familiar folk tale "Ngao Sò Ốc Hến," but is modernized with a contemporary storytelling approach and added fantastical elements. The film centers on a notoriously miserly and extremely stingy person, leading to a series of hilarious and absurd situations. The story is developed in an entertaining way suitable for modern audiences.

Trùm Sò is a folk comedy film with fantasy elements – a familiar direction and a strength that helped Đức Thịnh make his mark at the box office with two films surpassing 100 billion VND in revenue: Trạng Quỳnh and Siêu sao siêu ngố . In this comeback project, he not only serves as director but also plays the lead role of Trùm Sò. The film's script was written by screenwriter Hồ Hải.
Besides Duc Thinh, the film also features many familiar faces such as Doan Quoc Dam, Phuong Nam, Hoang Toc Dai, and Miss World Vietnam 2022 Huynh Nguyen Mai Phuong... In the first images released, Doan Quoc Dam attracted attention with his rather unusual portrayal of a judge, while Phuong Nam transformed into a lobster character with a more humorous style compared to his previous on-screen appearances.
