The event was lively with a variety of activities such as screenings of documentary films about Vietnam-Hungary relations, exhibitions of paintings and photographs introducing the country and people of Vietnam, and outstanding achievements after more than 40 years of Doi Moi (Renovation).
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Hungary Bui Le Thai emphasized that the Vietnamese Culture Day in Budapest is not only an opportunity to honor national cultural identity but also a bridge for cultural exchange, contributing to strengthening understanding and friendship between the people of the two countries.
The Ambassador expressed gratitude for the close cooperation from the District 3 authorities, and affirmed that the Vietnamese community in Hungary will continue to play its role as a bridge of friendship, making positive contributions to the comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and Hungary.
Mr. Kiss László, District Head of District 3, highly appreciated the initiative to organize the event and affirmed his readiness to cooperate with the Embassy in cultural exchange activities for the Vietnamese community. He also proposed promoting sister city relations between District 3 and Son Tay town (Vietnam), creating favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to integrate and contribute positively to local development.
The highlight of the event was an exhibition of images and videos showcasing 75 years of bilateral relations, high-level visits, cultural heritage, and Vietnam's innovative achievements. The exhibition helped Hungarian people better understand a peaceful, dynamic, and deeply integrated Vietnam.
In addition, stalls selling exported agricultural products such as cashews, coffee, tea, and traditional spices, along with distinctive culinary spaces and folk art performances, provided a vibrant cultural experience, attracting a large number of local people.
The event concluded in a friendly atmosphere, conveying a clear message: Culture is a strong connecting thread, contributing to strengthening and developing the friendly and comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and Hungary in the new era.
