According to the Department of Tourism 's report, during the 5-day holiday period of April 30th and May 1st, Nghe An province welcomed and served approximately 950,000 tourists (122% compared to 2023), of which an estimated 350,000 were overnight visitors. The average room occupancy rate reached over 90%. Total tourism revenue is estimated at over 1,700 billion VND.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, thunderstorms and strong winds are likely to occur in Nghe An province on May 1st, both day and night. Following the principle of "better to harvest early than risk damage," farmers in Yen Thanh district are actively racing to harvest their rice crops to avoid the storms and minimize losses.
* With the theme "Workers' Solidarity - Implementing Resolutions," the Nghe An Provincial Trade Union's Workers' Month was built with many creative and unique activities, affirming the role of the organization and the position of the working class.
* The wildfires in Nam Dan and Thanh Chuong districts (Nghe An province) were completely brought under control on the morning of May 1st; however, at the scene, some forest areas have been burned down and are unlikely to recover.
* Nghe An province has directed units, forces, the authorities of Nam Dan and Thanh Chuong districts, and the people to continue to be vigilant and not be complacent because the weather is still unpredictable. Units are required to continue assigning personnel to be on duty 24/7 to prevent the fire from reigniting.
