The supply of E10 gasoline is stable, and consumption is gradually increasing.
From June 1st, along with the rest of the country, gasoline and oil businesses in Nghe An province simultaneously began selling E10 RON 95 bio-gasoline on a large scale. After more than two weeks of implementation, business operations have been stable, with no shortages in supply or unusual market fluctuations recorded.

Reporters observed that Petrol Station No. 7 on Nguyen Phong Sac Street, Truong Vinh Ward, sees a large number of customers filling up their tanks daily. Besides various types of diesel fuel, this gas station currently only supplies one type of gasoline: E10 RON95.
According to store staff, in the early days of its rollout, many people were hesitant about the new fuel and often asked detailed questions about its quality and compatibility with their engines before deciding to use it. However, after a period of practical experience, their apprehension has significantly decreased.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, residing in Truong Vinh ward, shared: “Initially, I was a little worried because this is a new type of gasoline. However, after more than a week of using it for both my motorbike and family car, I found that the engine runs normally, without any unusual symptoms. If it ensures quality and is more environmentally friendly, I am willing to continue using it.”

A representative from Petrolimex Nghe An Co., Ltd. stated that all gas stations in the system have switched to selling E10 gasoline in accordance with regulations, with the supply of gasoline and diesel in the area currently being fully ensured. On average, the company supplies approximately 1,000 cubic meters of E10 gasoline daily, equivalent to 1 million liters per day, to the four provinces of Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh , and Quang Tri.
In Nghe An province alone, the daily consumption is approximately 450,000 liters. Cumulatively, from the beginning of June 2026 to date, more than 6 million liters of E10 gasoline have been supplied to the market.
According to the Nghe An branch of Vung Ang Petroleum Joint Stock Company (PV OIL Nghe An), the E10 business has been going smoothly recently. Currently, 15 stores belonging to the company's system in the province are selling E10 steadily with an average consumption of about 25 m³/day, equivalent to about 25,000 liters/day. To date, the company has not received any customer complaints regarding product quality.

According to statistics, Nghe An province currently has more than 600 gasoline and diesel retail outlets. After more than two weeks of simultaneous implementation, the market has generally not shown significant fluctuations, while consumption volume is gradually increasing, indicating that E10 is gradually being accepted by consumers. The stability of the supply and the more open attitude from the people are positive signs for the transition to using biofuels.
Why is E5 RON 92 gasoline less common on the market?
According to current regulations, gasoline businesses can sell both E10 RON 95 and E5 RON 92 gasoline simultaneously to meet the diverse needs of consumers. However, observations at many gas stations in Nghe An province show that E5 RON 92 gasoline is currently quite limited in availability compared to E10 RON 95.

At many gas stations, people can easily find E10 RON 95 pumps, but it's difficult to find E5 RON 92. In fact, many stations now only sell E10 alongside diesel. This has led many consumers to wonder why this once-popular fuel is now less common.
Explaining this situation, Mr. Bui Ngoc Chi, Director of the Vung Ang Petroleum and Gas Joint Stock Company's branch in Nghe An, said that the main reason stems from the actual market demand.
"Currently, all 15 of our stores in Nghe An province are selling E10 gasoline. After more than two weeks of implementation, sales volume remains stable and we have not received any unusual feedback from customers."
From the perspective of a leading enterprise, Mr. Cao Viet Dong - Head of Business Department of Petrolimex Nghe An, believes that the simultaneous deployment of multiple types of gasoline depends not only on market demand but also on technical infrastructure conditions and business efficiency.
According to Mr. Dong, to introduce a new fuel type into the distribution system, businesses must comprehensively plan everything from storage facilities, tanks, pipelines, preservation, blending, transportation, and distribution. If consumption demand is not high enough, the investment and operation will increase costs, affecting business efficiency.
Currently, our company only sells E10 RON95 gasoline in Nghe An province. We are still monitoring the actual market demand to make appropriate calculations. Launching a new product requires ensuring both customer demand and efficient utilization of existing infrastructure.

Alongside promoting the use of biofuels, Nghe An province is also strengthening management to ensure the quality of E10 gasoline on the market.
On June 10, 2026, the Provincial People's Committee issued Document No. 6767/UBND-VX regarding the implementation of the plan for inspecting and monitoring the quality of E10 bioethanol in 2026, as requested by the Ministry of Science and Technology. Accordingly, the Department of Science and Technology was assigned to lead and coordinate with the Department of Industry and Trade and other relevant units to develop a plan for inspection and monitoring throughout the province.

The inspections will focus on production facilities, blending plants, storage facilities, distribution systems, and retail outlets selling E10 bioethanol fuel.
The Provincial People's Committee also requested a review of all organizations and individuals involved in the gasoline and oil supply chain in the province, with a focus on facilities posing a high risk regarding quality.
