Premier League: Man United win convincingly against Brighton
Despite playing away from home, Man United still showed their superior class by winning 3-0 against Brighton in the 38th round of the 2025-2026 Premier League.

On the night of May 24th, Brighton will host Man United at the Amex Stadium in the 38th round of the 2025-2026 Premier League season.
Before the final round of matches, Brighton were 7th in the league table and still had a chance to qualify for the Champions League next season. This was contingent on them beating Manchester United and hoping their rivals above them would slip up.

Despite already securing third place, Manchester United manager Michael Carrick fielded a very strong team, determined to win and show his appreciation to the fans.
Right after the opening whistle, the match became lively with players from both teams exchanging attacks.
In the first 30 minutes, both sides created quite a few opportunities, but neither team managed to capitalize on them.
It wasn't until the 33rd minute that the fans at the Amex Stadium had something to celebrate. In this situation, Bruno Fernandes delivered a tricky cross into the Brighton penalty area, and Dorgu rose high to head the ball into the net, opening the scoring.
With the deadlock broken, the Manchester United players seemed to shed their pressure and played much more freely. In the 44th minute, Diallo showed skillful footwork before delivering a perfect pass for Mbeumo to comfortably tap the ball into the empty net, extending the Red Devils' lead to 2-0.
Having conceded two goals in quick succession, Brighton pushed their entire attacking line forward with a "nothing to lose" attitude. Although they created a few chances, the home team's strikers were rather ineffective and failed to capitalize on them.
After the break, manager Fabian Hurzeler made several substitutions hoping to turn the tide. However, before the new players could make an impact, Brighton conceded another goal.

In the 48th minute, receiving a well-placed pass from Dorgu, Bruno Fernandes dribbled the ball for another touch before unleashing a powerful shot, beating the home team's goalkeeper for the third time in the match.
Trailing by three goals before the 50th minute, manager Fabian Hurzeler repeatedly substituted Danny Welbeck, Diego Gomez, and James Milner, bringing on Charalampos Kostoulas, Solly March, and Carlos Baleba.
However, these changes to the "Seagulls" seem to have come too late and haven't been very effective.
In reality, on the pitch, Man United deliberately slowed down the pace of the game after taking the lead. Taking advantage of this, Brighton launched attacks, but the home team's players still proved quite unlucky in front of the visitors' goal.
In the 87th minute, Solly March received a well-placed pass from a teammate and unleashed a good shot towards the center of the Manchester United goal. However, goalkeeper Senne Lammens easily saved the shot.
In the final minutes of the match, both teams slowed down and no further goals were scored. Ultimately, Man United ended the season with a 3-0 victory over Brighton.
With this result, the Red Devils increased their total points to 71 and finished in 3rd place in the Premier League. Meanwhile, Brighton dropped to 8th place in the standings.
