Thu Minh raps, Luong Bich Huu shows off her incredibly energetic dance moves.
Our Song Vietnam (Vietnamese title: Our Songs), episode 8, aired on the evening of October 20th, featured guest singer Ha Nhi.
Performing her newly released song "Don't Pull My Feet Back," Ha Nhi said she would definitely appear if the show had a second season.
Ha Nhi opened episode 8 of Our Song Vietnam with the song "Don't Pull My Feet Back".
For the first duet performance of the A1 alliance, Thu Minh and Luong Bich Huu presented a completely new version of "Yes, I'm Sorry".
This hit song once took the community by storm with its catchy melody and dance moves that went viral on social media.
While the original version embodied the youthful and adorable spirit of Gen Z, the new arrangement showcases the two talented vocalists delivering an incredibly individualistic and mature rendition of the "apology."
While Thu Minh showcased her skillful rapping abilities, Luong Bich Huu thrilled the audience with her edgy short haircut and performed many energetic dance moves alongside her senior colleague.
Thu Minh and Luong Bich Huu stepped out of their comfort zone by trying a genre completely different from their usual forte.
According to Thu Minh, this is the first time in two decades that the "queen of dance music" and the "teen pop princess" have collaborated, so they wanted to create an explosive performance and try new things they've never done before.
The arrangement benefited greatly from the contributions of teammates OgeNus and Vu Thao My, helping the two women deliver a truly special performance.
Next up was a mashup performance of "You and Me - The Sky Hides and Takes You Away" by the junior duo from the B2 alliance, Lam Bao Ngoc and Phan Duy Anh.
Phan Duy Anh and Lam Bao Ngoc showcased impressive high notes.
Two songs composed several decades apart were harmoniously combined, from the stage design to the performances of the two young singers.
Phan Duy Anh and Lam Bao Ngoc presented a romantic and nostalgic love story between two elderly people, but also a very cute and humorous portrayal of a Gen Z couple with a transformation right on stage.
Phan Duy Anh said that this was also a challenge that pushed the male singer out of his comfort zone, as it was the first time he had simultaneously sung, danced, and showcased his acting abilities. The high-pitched performance between the two also left the audience extremely impressed.
Ngoc Anh and Phan Duy Anh leave the program.
For the third duet performance of the night, two representatives of the inspiring generation of the B2 alliance, Ngoc Anh 3A and Hoang Hai, also delivered an incredibly emotional performance with the song "The Great Star," composed by musician Hua Kim Tuyen.
The duet performance by Ngoc Anh 3A and Hoang Hai left many people feeling emotional.
The stage was set in a distinctly musical style, with an elegant arrangement set to tango music.
The two powerful vocalists perfectly conveyed the climactic and subdued passages, creating dramatic contrasts in the performance.
Completely immersed in the song, Ngoc Anh emotionally shared: "I cried from the moment I received the song, and while practicing at home, I kept crying until the very last line. I couldn't bear it from the moment Thanh introduced it."
Tran Thanh also shed tears at the outstanding performance of his senior colleague, saying, "This is an extremely talented and emotional artist; this character deserves recognition."
OgeNus and Vu Thao My create a new version of the hit song "Xem nhu em chang may" (It's like I'm just unlucky).
The competition night concluded with an impressive duet performance by OgeNus and Vu Thao My of "Xem nhu em chang may" (As if I'm unlucky) - a hit song previously performed very successfully by Luong Bich Huu.
For this performance, music director Khắc Hưng created a completely new arrangement. The melody has been revamped, making it catchier and more youthful.
Both OgeNus and Vu Thao My also wrote rap verses, making the song even more interesting. The stage was set up like a battle of wits, along with an impressive dance battle that kept the audience dancing non-stop.
Coming to the results announcement, the alliance of Thu Minh - Vu Thao My - Luong Bich Huu - OgeNus led with a total score of 1,039 points after 4 rounds of competition.
With a score of 1,036, the alliance of Ngoc Anh - Hoang Hai - Lam Bao Ngoc - Phan Duy Anh had to say goodbye to a member of the pioneering generation and a Gen Z member with the lowest individual score: singer Ngoc Anh and Phan Duy Anh.
This result left the audience and artists extremely disappointed. Thu Minh expressed her wish to collaborate with her senior colleague on the Our Song Vietnam stage, but this was not possible.
Next week, Our Song Vietnam continues with the final round of competition for the remaining two alliances in Live Show 2.
