"Toby Keith passed away peacefully on the evening of February 5th surrounded by his family. He fought his battle with courage," – a statement posted on Toby Keith's official website and other social media pages.

Elaine Schock, Toby Keith's spokesperson since 2003, confirmed the sad news to CNN.

Toby Keith passed away at the age of 62.
