"The flame" that unites the community

These days, the joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere of the National Unity Day (the festival) is spreading throughout residential areas in the province. This is not only an occasion to strengthen community bonds, but also a bridge between the people and the government; a forum for people to contribute ideas to build increasingly civilized and developed residential areas.

Building national unity and interreligious solidarity helps localities achieve sustainable development.

Each citizen is a connecting "nucleus".

From the end of October, the atmosphere of preparation for the festival has been bustling throughout the villages and hamlets. Many village cultural centers are lit up every night for people to practice performing arts; young people work together to set up stages and decorate with flags and flowers; women mobilize to clean up the environment... All are aimed at making the festival a truly complete success.

This year's community festival was meticulously and solemnly organized by the residents, while still ensuring economy and closeness. In the ceremonial part, the people reviewed the 95-year tradition of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; honored cultural families and exemplary individuals in community development; and signed emulation agreements. Meanwhile, the festive part was lively with "homegrown" cultural performances, folk games, and stalls displaying local agricultural products. Particularly noteworthy was the "Meal of Great Unity" – a beautiful community tradition that has been maintained for many years.

In Hamlet 4, Da Huoai 3 Commune, villagers arrived at the village hall early to prepare for the festival. Immediately after a brief ceremony, the hall grounds became lively with competitions such as tug-of-war, sack racing, and stick pushing, all accompanied by enthusiastic cheers from the villagers. Mr. Dinh Thanh Thuy, Head of Hamlet 4, shared: “The festival is a joy thanks to the villagers. When the people are united, everything is successful. Therefore, we strive to organize the festival in a way that is both solemn and truly a chance for everyone to get closer.”

Meanwhile, in Hamlet 8, Da Huoai 2 Commune, the festival was bustling with cultural performances by the local people themselves. Farmers who spend their lives tending to their durian, rambutan, and mangosteen orchards now became amateur performers on stage, singing and dancing cheerfully. Ms. Pham Thi Tien, a member of the "Red Rose" folk dance club, shared: "To prepare for today's two performances, we practiced for 10 days. Despite being busy with our gardens and families, we still managed to practice in the evenings." Having lived in this new economic zone for over 30 years, she said emotionally: "We are all far from our hometowns, so the sense of community and neighborly affection is very precious. The festival helps us to become closer, more united, and more bonded."

Da Huoai 2 commune has 19 villages with nearly 15,000 inhabitants, including 4 villages of ethnic minorities from the Central Highlands. People from many regions have come to settle here, creating cultural diversity and fostering a vibrant emulation movement in economic development and preserving cultural identity. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Huoai 2 commune, said: “Towards the 95th anniversary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front's traditional day, we are organizing many propaganda activities, competitions, and cultural festivals, focusing on the National Unity Day. In particular, the commune's Fatherland Front Committee is guiding the villages to organize the ceremonial part concisely, dedicating more time to the festive part to allow people to interact and strengthen their bonds.”

Strengthening national unity

This year's National Unity Day celebration not only brought joy to the residents of the communities, but also included the participation and support of leaders from the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Council, Provincial People's Committee, and the Provincial Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; as well as leaders from various departments, agencies, and localities. This was an opportunity for leaders to converse with and listen to the concerns of the people in order to promptly address difficulties; and at the same time, to disseminate the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws and regulations. From there, it further inspired a spirit of emulation among the people, contributing to the development of the locality and the province.

Attending and sharing in the joy with the people of Ha Dong 1, 2, and 3 residential groups in Lam Vien ward, Da Lat, Comrade Y Thanh Ha Nie Kdam - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Head of the 15th National Assembly Delegation of Lam Dong province - acknowledged and praised the spirit of solidarity, unity, responsibility, and deep affection of the people of Ha Dong Flower Village - a traditional residential area that has contributed to building the brand of Da Lat flowers.

Informing the people about the province's development after the merger and operation of the two-tiered local government model, the Provincial Party Secretary also particularly emphasized the role of national unity in the current period. “Unity is not just a slogan, but the strength that creates all success. I believe that, with their fine traditions, with their spirit of unity, camaraderie, and creativity, the people of Ha Dong will continue to achieve many new successes, making positive contributions to the development of Lam Vien ward - Da Lat and our beloved Lam Dong province,” Comrade Y Thanh Ha Nie Kdam urged.

Meanwhile, attending the festival in Bon Bu Dar, Quang Truc border commune, Comrade Pham Thi Phuc - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province - praised the efforts of the ethnic people in the border region of the Fatherland; and urged them to continue promoting self-reliance, innovating production, and maintaining border security , peace , and friendship. She emphasized: “The Party Committee, government, Fatherland Front, and mass organizations need to play a core role in building national unity; propagating and mobilizing the people to strictly abide by the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws, especially regulations concerning border areas.”

This year, in the new context, many localities in the province organized the festival in the form of inter-communal events, creating a vibrant atmosphere of competition and attracting a large number of people to participate. Besides cultural, artistic, and sports activities, many meaningful tasks were also carried out. In particular, from the province's Fund for the Poor, thousands of gifts were given to disadvantaged households in various residential areas during this event. This contributed to spreading the spirit of mutual support and sharing within the community.

Therefore, the National Unity Day is not just an annual cultural and social event, but truly a "flame" that unites the community. Through it, it further strengthens love for each region and each person; at the same time, it fosters faith and motivation for each citizen to strive and contribute to the development of their homeland, Lam Dong.
