On the afternoon of January 16th, the Economic, Infrastructure and Urban Planning Department of Hai Ninh ward (Ha Tinh province) reported that, thanks to favorable weather conditions over the past three days, many local fishermen have been consistently catching large quantities of anchovies and krill (also known as sea shrimp or krill) at sea.

Currently, there are approximately 453 boats of various types in Hai Ninh ward. In recent days, after venturing out to sea about 2-4 nautical miles from the shore in the Ky Anh sea area ( Ha Tinh province), fishermen in the ward have been harvesting an average of 50-60 tons of krill and 60-70 tons of anchovies of various types each day.

Traders and seafood processing facilities have come directly to the shore to purchase the catch at prices ranging from 14,000-15,000 VND/kg for anchovies and 12,000-13,000 VND/kg for krill. Some fishermen choose to dry the krill to use as a reserve or for retail sale, increasing its value.

Since the beginning of 2026, this has been the most bountiful catch of anchovies and krill, bringing in a significant economic income for fishermen in Hai Ninh ward. This is considered a positive sign, marking a favorable start to the new year for local fishermen.

The fishermen hope that in their next fishing trips they will continue to catch more valuable seafood, providing them with additional funds to celebrate the Lunar New Year of the Horse in 2026 in a more prosperous, fulfilling, and warm manner.
