Nguyen Thi Truc Linh, an employee of the Ca Mau Provincial Youth Union, said: “My friends and I were determined to go see it, even though we didn't have much time. This wasn't just a ceremony, but an opportunity to relive historical memories, to feel the national pride spreading through every step of the parade, every drumbeat. Before going, my group surveyed the location to see as many troops as possible. Who knows, maybe someday I can tell my children and grandchildren that I participated in the parade, just like my parents told me when I was young.”
Nguyen Thi Truc Linh captured a beautiful moment on Nguyen Hue pedestrian street after watching the parade.
Not only young people, but many small families also traveled long distances to bring their children to attend the rehearsal in Ho Chi Minh City, hoping to teach their children about national pride and self-respect through the majestic parade, thereby fostering patriotism, love for peace, and independence that their ancestors sacrificed their blood and lives to achieve today.
The lively atmosphere at the rehearsal on Nguyen Hue pedestrian street was captured by a reporter from Ca Mau newspaper.
Ms. Doan Thuy An, who works at Ca Mau Community College, said: “My husband and I took advantage of the weekend to bring our two children to see the rehearsal for the parade firsthand. Watching it on TV or social media is really not as vivid as watching it live. The two children were very happy, constantly saying, ‘It’s so impressive, so magnificent!’ They independently learned about the red flag with a yellow star and the marching troops with great enthusiasm. This is also a beautiful memory for my whole family.”
Ms. Doan Thuy An's family traveled from Ca Mau to Ho Chi Minh City to attend the rehearsal for the parade commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country, filled with excitement and joy.
The emotions felt by the people of Ca Mau after watching the April 30th parade were incredibly special, a blend of national pride, emotion, and gratitude for those who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the country. Watching the special aircraft proudly flying the red flag with a yellow star, or the fighter jets circling and creating trails of smoke in the air… everyone's heart swelled with joy.
Many people from all over the country took the opportunity to fly to Ho Chi Minh City to watch the parade and take souvenir photos.
Watching the solemn and uniform marching troops, interspersed with images of the armed forces, veterans, and the younger generation, everyone felt a surge of pride in the strength of unity and the indomitable spirit of the Vietnamese people. The stirring music, fluttering flags, and reenactments of history also moved many, reminding them of a time of arduous but incredibly heroic war. At the same time, this was an opportunity for generations to reflect once again on the present – the development, peace, and aspirations of the country today.
