Users complain that iPhones don't sound alarms.

Warnings on Reddit indicate that many users reported their iPhones were not ringing their alarms as set, causing them to oversleep. This previously unknown bug appears to affect both newer and older iPhone models, including the iPhone XR, 11, and 15.

Some users noted they encountered this problem after installing the iOS 17 update, while others said it occurred after installing the iOS 17.2 update. On the other hand, many users reported experiencing the alarm issue on their iPhones, even though it was fixed in subsequent software updates. Some Reddit users suggested that this problem has existed for years on iPhones running older versions of iOS.

To avoid this issue, members have advised users to turn off the Attention Aware feature on iPhones, which helps the device detect whether the user is paying attention to it and take actions such as reducing the volume of alerts.

The iOS 17 version has reportedly caused several strange bugs on iPhones.

Another solution is to turn off Standby mode, delete and reinstall the clock app, and delete some alarms if too many are set in a short period of time. Apple has not officially commented on this issue, so it is unclear whether this is a program bug or a feature that is affecting alarm settings on the iPhone.
