The person who "keeps the flame" of family happiness alive.

For centuries, Vietnamese women have always been the keepers of warmth and peace in every home. Deeply aware of the crucial role of women in the family, the Women's Union at all levels in the province has implemented many practical activities to enhance the capacity and skills of its members, helping women confidently assert their position and proactively build prosperous, equal, progressive, and happy families.

Leaders of the Provincial Women's Union exchanged knowledge and legal information on gender equality with their members.

The Women's Union of Chiềng Sung commune currently has 2,346 members, organized into 26 branches. The entire commune maintains 20 "Family with 5 No's and 3 Cleanliness Standards" models, 26 women's groups supporting each other in economic development, and various clubs with regular activities, contributing to raising awareness about marriage, family, and gender equality. Annually, the Union organizes awareness campaigns on preventing domestic violence, marital conduct skills, parenting methods, and preventing social evils, helping members strengthen their skills in building happy families and maintaining harmony within their families.

Ms. Vi Thi Hiep, President of the Women's Union of Chieng Sung commune, said: "Every month, the Union assigns branch leaders to monitor the situation of each member household, especially those families at risk of conflict. When problems arise, the Union coordinates with the village head and other organizations and grassroots mediation groups to provide timely support. In addition, to ensure members have stable livelihoods, the Union receives entrusted preferential credit funds for 296 women to borrow, with a total outstanding loan balance of nearly 12.1 billion VND; maintaining the '5,000 VND/member/month' fund, mobilizing over 280 million VND, providing interest-free loans to 26 members. Thanks to this, many member households have been able to develop their economy, escape poverty, and the percentage of households achieving the title of 'Cultural Family' remains above 85%."

In Chieng Mai commune, the women's movement for economic development linked to building happy families has been effectively implemented by the commune's Women's Union for many years. The Union currently manages 32 loan groups with 760 members and a total outstanding loan balance of over 41 billion VND, entrusted to the Social Policy Bank. This helps members borrow funds to develop fruit tree cultivation, livestock farming, and small-scale services, thereby increasing their income. With stable economic conditions and improved living standards, domestic conflicts, violence, and divorce rates have decreased by approximately 10-15% compared to the past.

Ms. Lo Thi Von, from Nghiu Co village, Chieng Mai commune, shared: "Previously, unstable income easily led to conflicts and arguments within the family. After participating in the Association's activities, I was guided in implementing a fruit tree cultivation model, earning over 200 million VND annually after deducting expenses. This substantial income has helped my family achieve a more stable and happier life."

In recent times, the Women's Union at all levels in the province has effectively implemented many movements, models, and clubs related to building happy families. A notable example is Project 938, "Propaganda, education , mobilization, and support for women to participate in resolving some social issues related to women in the period 2018-2027," which attracted 2,056 cadres and members. Since the beginning of the year, the entire province has organized dozens of propaganda sessions for over 1,100 members on gender equality, parenting skills, prevention of domestic violence, and household economic management skills… helping women become more confident and proactive in building happy families.

The province currently maintains 339 community communication teams, 49 "Community Trusted Address" models, and 60 "Leaders of Change" clubs that operate regularly, attracting a large number of members. Simultaneously, new models are being expanded, such as the "Member Household Free from Crime and Social Evils" model, with 30 members participating, which has initially proven effective in helping members acquire skills in organizing their lives, behaving within the family, caring for and educating their children, and resolving family conflicts.

Ms. Quang Thi Van, Permanent Vice President of the Provincial Women's Union, said: Promoting the role of women in building happy families is not just about propaganda, but more importantly, about creating conditions for women to have knowledge, income, and a voice in the family and society. In the coming time, the Union will continue to expand effective models, focus on supporting disadvantaged women, and promote digital transformation in the Union's work to provide information and updated knowledge to members in a more practical and timely manner.

Actively participating in the activities and initiatives of the Women's Union is a way for women to access and equip themselves with necessary knowledge and skills. This helps women become more confident in organizing their lives, managing their families, and proactively building peaceful and happy homes, creating important momentum towards building a happy society.
