Mr. Trieu Nho Tien was born in 1963 in Lan Ca village, Hung Vu commune. In 2011, he was elected Head of the Front Committee of Lan Ca village. This is one of the particularly disadvantaged villages in the commune, with 65 households, mainly of the Dao ethnic group. The villagers mainly engage in agriculture and forestry, and their lives are still very difficult. Previously, the road into the village was just a narrow dirt road, making travel extremely difficult, and people mainly traveled on foot.
Faced with this situation, when the government initiated the construction of rural roads, he took the lead in donating land to expand the route. On the clean, paved road leading into the village, Mr. Tien shared: "Previously, vehicles like motorbikes and cars couldn't pass through this road. On many rainy days, people had to carry children across to get to school. That's why, when the Party committee and the commune government propagated and encouraged land donation for road construction, my family agreed to donate a portion of our land."
Specifically, in 2025, Mr. Tien's family donated over 1,000 square meters of forest land planted with anise and eucalyptus trees to expand the road in the village. He also actively promoted and encouraged villagers to participate in donating land. He went to each household to explain the long-term benefits of the road expansion, helping people understand that the new road would facilitate trade, economic development, and improve their lives.
Following Mr. Tien's exemplary leadership, many other families in the village responded by donating land so that the road could be completed sooner. Ms. Ban Thi Mui, from Lan Ca village, shared: "My family was encouraged by commune officials and Mr. Tien to donate a portion of our land for the road. Seeing Mr. Tien's family setting a good example, my family also agreed to donate 1,500 square meters of land to facilitate the commune's concrete road construction. Having a clean, wide concrete road makes it easier for us to travel and for children to get to school."
Following Mr. Tien's exemplary leadership, 14 households in the village donated over 2,000 square meters of land for road construction. Thanks to the collective efforts of the villagers, the previously narrow dirt road has been paved with concrete and widened to a 3-meter wide, nearly 3.5-kilometer length.
Mr. Pham Ba Hanh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hung Vu commune, commented: "Mr. Trieu Nho Tien is a typical and exemplary figure, always at the forefront of emulation movements in the locality, especially the movement to donate land for rural road construction. His donation of land for the common good not only demonstrates a high sense of responsibility to the community but also shows his consensus and trust in the policies of the Party and the State. Besides donating land for roads, Mr. Tien's family is also one of the households actively developing agricultural economy in the locality. This is truly a shining example for people in the area to learn from and follow."
For those contributions, in February 2026, Mr. Trieu Nho Tien was honored to receive a certificate of commendation from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for his significant contributions to society and the locality in 2025.
