With her dedication and passion, Ms. Than Thi Huong, Secretary of the Party Branch of Phuc Son village, Son Loc commune (Can Loc district, Ha Tinh province ), has always been a driving force behind local community activities and movements.

For over 23 years as a commune official in Son Loc, Ms. Than Thi Huong has undertaken many responsibilities, including overseeing irrigation, population and family planning. In 2017, after retiring, she was elected as the Party Secretary of Phuc Son village.
Acting in her role as a Party member and a Party branch secretary, Ms. Huong consistently demonstrated a sense of responsibility, undertaking many important tasks in the process of building a new rural area in the village.
Ms. Huong's significant contribution as the village Party branch secretary is evident in her implementation of Resolution 01-NQ/HU on land consolidation and accumulation, issued by the Standing Committee of the Can Loc District Party Committee.
In early 2023, Phuc Son village began implementing the policy of land consolidation and accumulation. However, due to a lack of full and thorough understanding, many residents did not fully agree with the implementation process. As the head of the village's Land Conversion Committee, Ms. Huong chaired numerous meetings and conducted persistent outreach, explaining the role and impact of this major policy on economic development, income improvement, and the lives of the people. Through persistent effort, the people of Phuc Son village gradually understood, agreed with, and enthusiastically participated in the implementation.
As a result, in 2023, Phuc Son village completed the target of consolidating 11 hectares of agricultural land, and gradually shifted from small-scale production to large-scale, concentrated production.
The "House of Wisdom" model was built with support from all levels of government and contributions from the people.
To mobilize resources to equip the village cultural center with additional facilities, Ms. Huong propagated and encouraged the people to understand the value and benefits that the "House of Wisdom" brings to their spiritual lives, and called on those who have left their hometown to join hands in helping.
Therefore, in a short time, the village mobilized over 100 million VND, combined with 100 million VND supported by the province and district, the Phuc Son village cultural center was fully equipped with items such as tables and chairs, a traditional corner, a reading corner, a television, and computers with internet access... This has become a favorite cultural activity place for people of all ages in the village.
Phuc Son village achieved the status of a model residential area in 2021.
Besides fulfilling her role as Party branch secretary, Ms. Huong also actively "ignited" charitable activities, cultural and sports movements in the locality. From 2021 to 2023, she and her colleagues in the Party branch raised nearly 100 million VND to provide Tet (Lunar New Year) support for the poor; mobilized hundreds of millions of VND to support house construction and provide gifts to disadvantaged families; and organized sports competitions...
Mr. Dang Ba Ly, a resident of Phuc Son village, shared: "Ms. Huong is a very responsible and enthusiastic person, close to the villagers. Thanks to her efforts in mobilizing and promoting the movement, the people of Phuc Son have actively participated in and contributed to building new rural areas and improving cultural life in the residential area."
For her contributions, Ms. Huong has received numerous commendations from the district and commune authorities.
Thanks to the enthusiasm and dedication of the leader and the consensus of the people, in 2021, Phuc Son village achieved the status of a model residential area and was awarded the title of "Cultural Village".
