Every afternoon, the training ground of the Tuan Vu Karate Club, located in Group 85, Phan Dinh Phung Ward, becomes a familiar meeting place for many martial arts practitioners. From elementary school students and high school students to university students, each person comes to Karate for a different reason, but all find here a serious, healthy, and beneficial training environment.
The person directly guiding and correcting each movement for the students is Mr. Vu Minh Tuan, the head of the Tuan Vu Karate Club. With the dedication of a teacher and the experience of a former top-level athlete, he always focuses on training the students from basic techniques to discipline, perseverance, and sportsmanship.
Trieu Gia Linh, from group 85, Phan Dinh Phung ward, shared: "When I came here to study, Mr. Tuan taught me very dedicatedly and enthusiastically, so I felt very confident." Nguyen Hoang Khoi Nguyen, from group 4, Quan Trieu ward, said: "I've been practicing this sport for two years now. The teacher is very dedicated in guiding me, so even difficult movements have become easy."
Vu Minh Tuan began practicing Karate in 2006 and later competed in the high-performance sports team of Thai Nguyen province. During his competition career, he won numerous gold and silver medals at the National Karate Championship, the National Sports Games, youth Karate competitions, and the National Cup. These years of competition have helped him accumulate experience, confidence, and a deep love for the martial art of Karate.
When he passed the age limit for competition, instead of leaving the training mat, Tuan chose to return and build up the movement at the local level. He opened classes, established clubs, and sought out and nurtured talented martial arts students. For him, each class is not only a place to train martial arts, but also an environment to help young people develop their physical fitness, character, and resilience.

| Le Nhu Quynh, an athlete from Tuan Vu Karate Club, won the Gold Medal in the women's individual Kumite event (13-15 age group) at the 2026 Thai Nguyen Province Karate Club Tournament. |
In a context where Karate is not yet a martial art with as many practitioners as Taekwondo or traditional martial arts, maintaining and developing the movement faces many difficulties. However, with perseverance and dedication, Mr. Vu Minh Tuan has gradually expanded the activities of the club. To date, the Tuan Vu Karate Club maintains 5 training locations in Quan Trieu and Phan Dinh Phung wards, with more than 200 students participating regularly.
Mr. Vu Minh Tuan said: "Our Karate club is trying to expand to find more athletes to supply to Thai Nguyen province. The club is also trying to innovate its training programs and methods to improve the quality of training."
From grassroots martial arts classes, many students of the Tuan Vu Karate Club have matured and confidently participated in provincial-level competitions. At the 2025 Thai Nguyen Open Martial Arts Club Tournament, the club achieved second place overall. At the 2025 Thai Nguyen Provincial Karate Championship, the club ranked third overall. Most recently, at the 2026 Thai Nguyen Provincial Karate Club Tournament, the club's students won 2 Gold medals, 6 Silver medals, and 22 Bronze medals.
These results are a recognition of the students' training efforts and demonstrate the teacher's dedication to maintaining and developing the Karate movement at the grassroots level. For Mr. Vu Minh Tuan, success lies not only in the medals, but also in the fact that more and more children are learning about Karate, falling in love with Karate, and improving themselves through this martial art.
