We met Dr. Tran Van Vang, Specialist II, at the Cardiovascular Center, General Hospital No. 2 of Lao Cai province, just as he was examining a patient with acute myocardial infarction following coronary artery intervention.
Dr. Vang shared: "After graduating from Thai Nguyen Medical University, I started working at the hospital in 2013 and continued my advanced training in cardiology. With the support of experts from the central level, my colleagues and I have successfully implemented many new techniques, most notably coronary artery intervention."
Since the beginning of 2026, this technique has helped save the lives of 80 patients. That motivates us to continue dedicating ourselves to the healthcare of the people," added Doctor Vang.
In addition, Dr. Vang participated in research on 7 basic-level scientific projects and initiatives, which have been effectively applied in practice, such as: "Research on the clinical and paraclinical characteristics of patients with atrial fibrillation and cerebral infarction"; "Implementing electrical cardioversion for patients with dangerously fast heart rate"... Each initiative is the result of the young doctor's sense of responsibility and his unwavering aspiration to continuously improve the quality of medical examination and treatment.

The Director of the Center for Research and Technology Transfer is one of the outstanding figures among the intellectual workforce in agricultural science.
Not only is she dedicated to management and teaching, but she also actively researches and leads many valuable scientific projects contributing to the conservation and development of typical medicinal plants, such as: the technical process for propagating and cultivating several types of medicinal plants with high economic value (Atractylodes macrocephala, Angelica dahurica, Angelica sinensis...), transferring the technology to 60 households in Y Tý commune, expanding it to over 10 hectares; building a model for propagating and cultivating medicinal plants such as Atractylodes macrocephala, Angelica sinensis, Platycodon grandiflorus... according to GACP-WHO standards on 1 hectare in Y Tý commune, to serve traditional medicine.
In addition, she and her colleagues have implemented many ecological and organic farming models linked to rural tourism in Bac Ha.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Tan, a Master's degree holder, shared: "Every research project I participate in aims to bring science into practice. This is the responsibility of a lecturer, as well as a way to support the community, contributing to preserving valuable medicinal resources and creating sustainable livelihoods for people in mountainous areas."
Mr. Nguyen Van Huynh from Mau A commune, one of the 55 outstanding young intellectuals of the province in 2026, is a prime example of a dynamic young intellectual who dares to think and act. From an idea to produce hot and cold wood-burning stoves, this student from Hanoi College of Technology and Commerce returned to his hometown and gradually built his own brand.
To date, he owns one main factory and six smaller facilities, distributing 13,000 kitchen sets to the market through nearly 60 dealers nationwide, generating billions of dong in revenue and creating stable jobs for many local workers.
In 2024, his hot and cold wood-burning stove was recognized as a typical rural industrial product at the regional level. In 2025, he was honored to be among the top 100 outstanding Vietnamese startup entrepreneurs.
Mr. Huynh shared: "It was love and the desire to contribute to the community that motivated me to overcome difficulties, turn aspirations into reality, enrich myself, and contribute to the development of my homeland."
From dedicated doctors saving lives and scientists bringing technological advancements to the fields, to young entrepreneurs, the intellectual workforce of Lao Cai is present in every aspect of social life. With a spirit of dedication, they are contributing to creating practical values for the community, becoming a core force in the journey of innovation and development of their homeland.
Over the years, along with the effective implementation of Resolution No. 27-NQ/TW of the 10th Central Committee on building a team of intellectuals in the period of accelerating industrialization and modernization of the country and Directive 09 of the Provincial People's Committee on promoting the role of intellectuals in social consultation, criticism and assessment, the team of intellectuals in Lao Cai has increasingly demonstrated its capabilities, affirmed its position and made positive contributions to the development of the province.
Many intellectuals have gathered under the umbrella of the Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations. From here, numerous research projects, scientific solutions, and practical initiatives have been effectively implemented, directly serving daily life and production.
In addition, the intellectual community actively participates in providing feedback and contributing to many projects, policies, and drafts of important legal documents at both the central and local levels.
Over the years, the Union has brought together a team of intellectuals, contributing to connecting intellect with practice, promoting innovation through applied projects in various fields of social life, especially in digital transformation, healthcare, and agriculture. Through this, it affirms the important role of intellectuals in the development of a green, harmonious, distinctive, and happy Lao Cai province.
Today, in addition to its natural resources and cultural identity, Lao Cai's intellectual resources are becoming an important intrinsic strength, contributing to the creation of new values.
