(NLĐO) - Composer Giáng Son presents "Sol's Dream" to celebrate 40 years of musical activity with a lineup of famous singers including Thanh Lam, Tùng Dương, Hà Trần…

Composer Giáng Son said that "Giấc mơ Sol" (Sol Dream) was inspired by the title of the song "Giấc mơ trưa" (Midday Dream) that she composed exactly 20 years ago, and is also a "variation" of her own name - which means the note G in music.

That was Giáng Son's dream, a dream about music, of being free to explore , to experiment, with the musical styles she loved such as Pop, contemporary folk, chamber music, jazz, blues, and even rock…

"It's a true live concert showcasing my music, introducing to everyone the creations I've nurtured for so long, the works I've poured my heart and soul into. An outdoor concert in a large space accommodating about 2,000 people – it's truly a dream I've longed for and pondered over for many years," Giáng Son shared.

"Sol's Dream" took place on the evening of February 15th at the outdoor stage of Park City urban area in Hanoi . The program brought together vocalists Thanh Lam, Tung Duong, Ha Tran, Khanh Linh, Ha Linh, Hoang Dung, Thuy Chi… Composer Giang Son said she was very moved that all the singers in the program affirmed that they would not receive any payment.

"I was extremely moved when the singers said that, although of course I couldn't let that happen," Giáng Son said.

Singer Tung Duong expressed to the composer that he is like family, a close friend, so the issue of money and performance fees is not a concern. "I'm sure other singers share the same love for Giang Son," Tung Duong shared.

In "Sol's Dream," Giáng Son's 40-year musical journey will be recreated through her compositions. These include works she wrote in her early twenties, and later, such as "Midday Dream," "Grass and Rain," and "Autumn Fades." The female musician will also introduce some new, previously unreleased songs, including two performed by Thanh Lam and Thùy Chi.

Composer Luu Ha An served as the music director, while Xuan Truong was the stage director. Giang Son stated that composer Luu Ha An is a close friend and frequently arranges her songs. The two worked closely together to deliver a show with interspersed moments of quiet reflection and explosive energy.

Sharing his thoughts on the collaboration of famous singers in the concert, musician Luu Ha An said that looking at the list of participating singers, he felt like he had a "football team full of superstars".

"The challenge is how to get everyone to sing their favorite song without arguing. If everyone can't agree on who sings which song, then I'll just turn off my phone and only turn it back on during rehearsals," said musician Luu Ha An.

"Sol's Dream" is the first concert of 2025 in the Wandering Show music series produced by Thien Binh.
