VHO - On the morning of December 6th, at the Ho Hoan Kiem pedestrian street (Hanoi), the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with the Hanoi People's Committee, Vietnam Television, and the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, organized the opening ceremony of the "Vietnam Happy Fest 2025".

Attending the ceremony were Ms. Ha Thi Nga, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Vice Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Mr. Le Hai Binh, Alternate Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; and former Deputy Ministers of Culture, Sports and Tourism: Ms. Dang Thi Bich Lien, Mr. Le Tien Tho, etc.

In his opening remarks at the festival, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh emphasized that the Happy Vietnam Festival is a special occasion. It's a festival where every citizen and visitor to the capital can "walk through, touch," and "feel" the happiness of Vietnam.

Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh stated that 2025 marks a proud milestone as Vietnam rises to 46th place in the global happiness index report, an increase of 8 places compared to the previous year. These are not just statistics, but also a recognition of the persistent efforts of the Party, State, and people of Vietnam in creating a safe, humane environment, and above all, reflecting the optimistic and compassionate spirit of the Vietnamese people.

Permanent Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh delivered the opening speech at the festival.

At the same time, it reflects the aspirations, collective efforts, and unity of millions of Vietnamese people in moving towards a prosperous, thriving, and loving future.

According to Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh, the 3rd Happy Vietnam Award , organized on the Vietnam.vn platform promoting the image of Vietnam , continued to achieve great success. In 2025, the competition attracted more than 4,600 authors with over 17,000 photo and video clip entries; a 1.7-fold increase compared to last year. Each entry tells a touching story, a true glimpse into Vietnam; the peaceful, beautiful life and positive changes of the Vietnamese people every day.

“2025 is also a year of many significant events for the country, leaving a lasting impression on the minds of the Vietnamese people. These include the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country, and the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day. In this context, each entry in the competition is a lens of happiness, forming pieces that together “paint” a picture of a peaceful, beautiful, and developing Vietnam.”

"Vietnam is depicted with its golden rice fields, the green of the mountains and forests of the Northwest and Central Highlands, and the hustle and bustle of modern cities," Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh said.

Happy Vietnam is not just a competition, but a celebration of happiness. Happiness is not far away; it lies right in the homes and streets, reaching even the most remote villages of Vietnam. Happiness is present in the innocent eyes of children and the gentle smiles of grandparents.

Happiness is the firm handshakes, the resolute footsteps of soldiers marching to maintain peace for the Fatherland. It is the people themselves who create happiness, who inspire, and who tell the story of Vietnam's happiness.

Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh affirmed that for the Vietnamese people, happiness is created from simple things. It is these seemingly small values ​​that have created the enduring value and strength of the Vietnamese nation throughout thousands of years of history.

Opening art program of the Festival

With that in mind, Happy Vietnam Fest 2025 was created as a diverse and enriching experiential journey. This year's event space is organized around the Ho Hoan Kiem pedestrian street, with 13 "emotional rhythms".

Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh stated that Vietnam Happy Fest 2025 is not only a celebration for today, but also a foundation for Vietnam to build an annual Happy Vietnam Day . It's a special day to remember that the happiness of the Vietnamese people is built on peace , the love of each individual, the will to overcome difficulties, the spirit of solidarity, and the simple things that make up the Vietnamese cultural identity.

This also affirms that Vietnam is not only a destination of beauty, country, and people, but also a destination of humanity, peace, faith, and a bright future. Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh expressed his confidence in the Happy Vietnam Festival .   Vietnam Happy Fest will become a cultural festival, an annual event with the most humane meanings.

According to the organizers, the festival will take place over three days (December 5-7) in the Hoan Kiem Lake area and Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square (Hanoi) with a series of diverse, creative, and meaningful activities.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, a mass wedding ceremony for 80 couples took place, with the joyful participation of numerous locals and tourists.

The overall concept of the event is the "Path to Happiness ," a journey comprising 13 activities stretching from Le Thai To Street to Hang Khay Street, through Dinh Tien Hoang Street, and ending at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square.

The journey will unfold like a stream of emotions, where each step is a story, and every corner is a wonder of life in Vietnam today.

With 13 experiential points, likened to 13 emotional rhythms, this year's event space will take participants through: the Happy Vietnam Exhibition ; a digital interactive space; a photobooth and art exhibition areas; the Tree of Happiness - where wishes and seeds of love are entrusted; the Lens of Happiness , the Map of Happiness …

Notably, immediately following the opening ceremony of the festival was a mass wedding ceremony for 80 couples. The wedding symbolized the 80-year journey of independence, freedom, and happiness of the nation, thereby spreading the image of a compassionate, united, and community-oriented Vietnam.

VHO - The Vietnam Happy Fest 2025, a program conveying the message of an Independent, Free, and Happy Vietnam, will take place on December 6, 2025, with a series of activities that share stories of love, affection, connection, and spread joy to the community.

Also within the framework of the Festival, the "Supporting with Love - Sharing Happiness" activity will spread humanitarian and community values.

On December 7th (2:30 PM – 4:30 PM), the "Hundred Flowers Celebration" event will take place. Residents and tourists visiting the Hoan Kiem Lake pedestrian area will be able to admire processions in vibrant Vietnamese costumes, traditional wedding rituals, and images that evoke the solemn yet intimate atmosphere of joyous occasions of the past.

Each scene is designed to fully recreate the sacred moments of the wedding day – from the rhythmic footsteps of the procession to the image of vibrant Vietnamese costumes moving through the streets, like a vivid slice of the past brought to the present.

Additionally, on the evening of December 7th, the Vietnam Happy Fest music gala will be an emotional conclusion to the festival. The program will feature many popular young artists such as Bui Cong Nam, Lam Bao Ngoc, etc. The event is free to enter for locals and tourists.
