Don ca tai tu is one of the forms that Hau Giang pays special attention to and gradually creates conditions to preserve, promote, and create more playgrounds for artisans to exchange and transmit their craft.
Artists are always trained to improve their performance skills.
Focus on practice, transfer profession
Practicing to play well and sing well is one of the things that the Provincial Cultural Center focuses on directing throughout the system, to support professional knowledge for Don ca artists, helping them confidently stand on the stage performing amateur songs. Recently, with a 20-day training course, organized by the Provincial Cultural Center, it has attracted 30 musicians and singers from local CDTT clubs. Artisan Hoa Color, a member of Vi Thanh City CBT Club, shared: “I am very happy to join the class. Coming here, listening to artists knowledgeable about Don Ca Tai Tu not only impart knowledge, but also inspire fire, so that I can overcome my limitations, know more forms and love this subject, and see the responsibility in continuing to spread the fire of passion.
Training is one of the ways to help artisans in the province have more knowledge from basic to advanced about this art form. A special feature is that after the learning process, teachers and students jointly build an art program of CBT to summarize and convey to viewers the unique features of this type of art by absorbing and creatively applying the learned knowledge. Many times coming to Hau Giang to teach, outstanding artist Phan Minh Duc, lecturer at the University of Theater and Cinema of Ho Chi Minh City, shared: “Every time I meet new students and you all love God, I want to acquire as much knowledge as possible. Since then, 20 days of teachers and students meeting each other passed very quickly. I believe these are the people who continue to be the core, keep the fire and pass on the profession, contributing to making the Don ca tai tu continue to live in the community.”
Improve quality, create many playgrounds
The CBT Club is one of the four framework clubs in the cultural center system. Artists in communes, wards and towns are always facilitated by the locality to set up clubs for periodic activities. The province has nearly 4 clubs, teams and groups, with more than 100 artisans. The organization of practice in the system of centers is of particular interest, so that the artisans in these clubs are skilled enough to perform and connect, support the localities to create diversity, richness and improve the quality of clubs from the province to the grassroots.
Ms. Huynh Thi Hoa Dam, Chairwoman of Vi Thanh City Sports Club, shared: “The club of the Center for Culture, Sports and Radio is always the core force and we often organize exchanges with clubs at commune and ward levels. In the area, there are about 100 artisans living in clubs, more and more clubs organize weekly and monthly activities. At the regular activities, we combine to organize vocational training sessions, so that those who are interested can come to learn. What makes us happy is that the clubs are attracting more and more people who love activities. The artisans are always passionate, enthusiastic and creative in organizing periodic activities to gradually improve quality."
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism directs the Provincial Cultural Center to focus on improving the quality of CBT clubs from the province to the grassroots and to support each locality to build a quality CLC club, to build a program to introduce the local tourism potential, capable of serving tourists in tourist areas and destinations when needed. This is also an open direction, for grassroots sports clubs to improve their quality, giving artisans more opportunities to increase their income to ensure their lives and nurture long-term passion.
Mr. Duong Thanh Tung, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, shared: “We have advised the Provincial People's Committee to develop a project to protect and promote the Don Ca Tai Tu in the coming years and when it is issued and implemented, there will continue to be more opportunities to promote this type of music. We also directed the Provincial Cultural Center to review and improve the quality of activities of the Center's Sports Club and the whole system; continue to organize periodic activities and exchanges between provincial, district and local clubs to both create movement and improve quality. In the near future, we will organize an art competition of the Central Government, continuing to be a review and evaluation of quality to guide the affiliated units to preserve and promote, create vitality and spread in a practical way.
