QNgTV- To ensure compliance with EC requirements in combating illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing, authorities at all levels have decided to open fishing ports for many units operating in the field of fishing logistics services in the area. On the morning of November 22, Dong Son commune and functional agencies organized a survey and assessment of the Sa Ky fishing port according to the request to announce the opening of the port of Binh Tan Production and Trading Limited Company.
Sa Ky fishing port is built according to the standards of a type III fishing port, in Xuan An village, Dong Son commune with an area of over 7,000 square meters. Port items include: Fisheries logistics service area and ship repair and building workshop. The output of aquatic products unloaded through the port is about 15,000 tons/year.
Along with the request for the government to decide to announce the opening of the port, the managing unit has also established a Management Board to ensure personnel to operate the port according to the approved plan. After a field inspection, the Dong Son commune government unanimously issued a decision to announce the opening of Sa Ky fishing port to serve the needs of loading and unloading aquatic products of fishermen in and outside the locality, thoroughly overcoming the above IUU violations in the locality.
In late October and early November, authorities at all levels also decided to announce the opening of a type II port for the 19/5 Fisheries Logistics Service Port in Dong Son commune and a type III port for the Tra Bong River Fishing Port in Van Tuong commune.
The decision to announce the opening of the above fishing ports contributes to overcoming shortcomings in fishing port infrastructure, ensuring compliance with EC requirements in combating IUU fishing.
