QNgTV - To ensure compliance with EC requirements in combating illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing, authorities at all levels have decided to open fishing ports to many units operating in the field of fisheries logistics services in the area. On the morning of November 22nd, Dong Son commune, along with relevant authorities, conducted a survey and assessment of the Sa Ky fishing port following a request from Binh Tan Production and Trading Company Limited to officially open the port.

Sa Ky Fishing Port, built to Type III fishing port standards, is located in Xuan An village, Dong Son commune, covering an area of over 7,000 square meters. Port facilities include a fishing logistics service area and a workshop for repairing and building new boats. The port handles approximately 15,000 tons of seafood per year.
Following a request to the authorities to officially open the port, the managing unit also established a Management Board to ensure the port's operational personnel meet the approved plan. After a site inspection, the Dong Son commune authorities unanimously agreed to issue a decision officially opening the Sa Ky fishing port, aiming to serve the seafood unloading needs of fishermen from within and outside the locality, and to completely eliminate IUU violations in the area.
In late October and early November, authorities at all levels decided to officially designate the 19/5 Fisheries Logistics Service Port in Dong Son commune as a Class II port and the Tra Bong River Fishing Port in Van Tuong commune as a Class III port.
The decision to open the aforementioned fishing ports contributes to overcoming shortcomings in fishing port infrastructure and ensures compliance with EC requirements in combating IUU fishing.
