The website is directly linked to the websites of businesses and social media platforms to increase interaction between tourists and service providers. According to the City Department of Tourism , this is one of the solutions being implemented to promote the city's tourism to domestic and international tourists. On the tourism stimulus website, in addition to tour programs in Ho Chi Minh City, travel businesses also provide information on multi-destination tours to Lam Dong, Binh Thuan, and other provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta, Central Highlands, Central Vietnam, and northern provinces with many attractive promotions, in response to the "Vietnamese people travel in Vietnam" program. According to Bui Ta Hoang Vu, Director of the City Department of Tourism, the domestic tourism stimulus program, running from June to December, is a continuation of the 2019 domestic tourism stimulus program. There are nearly 260 tour programs and 280,000 discounted tickets with reductions ranging from 10% to 70%. According to Mr. Vu, the highlight of the program is a group of products that revitalize the city's signature destinations with preferential prices and many attractive services.
For example, the program includes experiences at high-tech agricultural zones, cooking classes for tourists, a trip to Thanh An Island (Can Gio District), a tour of Cu Chi - Ben Duoc for 99,000 VND/ticket, and a Cu Chi - Back to the Countryside Educational Eco-tourism area program for 119,000 VND/ticket. Participating hotels are offering over 200,000 nights of discounted room rates ranging from 22% to 68%, along with complimentary services such as airport transfers, spa treatments, and laundry. Restaurants and transportation companies (air, water, and land) are also participating with discounts from 30% to 55%. Notably, Vietjet Air's super-stimulus promotion program, offering 2.5 million tickets from just 8,000 VND across its entire network, will be available for unlimited purchase during the three golden days from June 9th to 11th. Hop-on Hop-off offers a 50% discount on tickets, Saigon Boat offers discounts of 10-30%, and 12 tourist attractions and entertainment venues in the city will offer discounts of 20-50% on entrance fees, such as Skydeck Bitexco with a 50% discount and Vam Sat Tourist Area offering free entry for individual visitors.
According to the city's Department of Tourism, 40 accommodation establishments have so far participated in introducing various special experience packages for group tours or family groups. Some notable programs include "A Day as a Junior Chef at a 5-Star Hotel," "Experiencing a 5-Star Heritage Hotel," and "Master Chef Classes"... "We expect the city's 2020 domestic tourism stimulus program to be widely embraced by residents and tourists, contributing to creating more momentum for the tourism industry to overcome difficulties, quickly recover, and effectively contribute to the economic development of the city in particular and the country in general," Mr. Vu said. The Ho Chi Minh City 2020 domestic tourism stimulus program is also the first program to have ambassadors, with the participation of Miss Tran Tieu Vy, Miss Vietnam 2018, and model-travel blogger Tran Quang Dai, along with several other artists and celebrities.
According to Nguyen Huu Y Yen, General Director of Saigontourist Travel Service Company, the youth and high-income family segments in local areas are two groups that need to be prioritized. Next is the important group of customers from within the city. For high-income young people from local areas, services such as staying in 4- and 5-star hotels, shopping and having coffee during the day, and exploring Ho Chi Minh City at night, enjoying nightclubs and bars, etc., could be offered. For this group, the city could be promoted as a must-visit destination to experience services that suit the tastes of young people, attracting them to popular attractions favored by young people in Ho Chi Minh City. For families, entrance fees to parks and entertainment areas such as Dam Sen, Suoi Tien, the Zoo, Kid City, and Vietopia should be reduced so that families from both provinces and Ho Chi Minh City can enjoy themselves during the upcoming summer. Next, offer discounted prices or package deals for 2-day, 1-night stays at 5-star hotels for families in high-income cities, similar to a beach resort vacation, so that city dwellers who don't want to travel far can enjoy local tourism. Encouraging city residents to explore local tourism services is a good idea. Accordingly, "Not many locals are aware of 4- and 5-star hotel services in the city, so offering these packages at lower prices can attract customers." Some travel companies are even considering closer cooperation with airlines and hotels to offer packages to encourage people from other provinces to visit Ho Chi Minh City. These promotional packages allow customers to receive 1 or 2 free nights at a hotel or other services simply by purchasing a plane ticket to the city. According to many travel companies, Ho Chi Minh City currently has two services that can be promoted during this period: shopping for designer brands at good prices through major promotional programs and experiencing high-end services at affordable prices.
