On August 18th, many universities nationwide continued to announce the admission scores (cut-off scores) for the 2024 high school graduation exam-based admission method. Notably, many universities that considered the C00 subject combination (Literature - History - Geography) saw a significant increase in cut-off scores compared to 2023, ranging from 2 to 5 points.
Many member universities of the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM) have seen a sharp increase in admission scores of 2-5 points compared to 2023, while some have experienced a slight decrease.
The University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City) has admission scores ranging from 22 to 28.88 points. Compared to 2023, the 2024 admission scores have slightly increased in many majors. In particular, the majors that consider the C00 combination (Literature - History - Geography) have seen an average increase of 2-3 points compared to the 2023 admission scores.
In particular, the Religious Studies major saw a 5-point increase (the cutoff score for the C00 group in 2023 was 21 points, and in 2024 it will be 26 points). In 2024, high cutoff scores were dominated entirely by the C00 admission combination; specifically, Journalism had the highest cutoff score with 28.88 points, followed by Tourism and Travel Service Management with 28.33 points, Cultural Studies with 28.2 points, Art Studies with 28.15 points, and History with 28.1 points.
In particular, the three new majors offered in 2024 also have relatively high admission scores: Art Studies (26.75 – 28.15 points, depending on the subject combination), International Studies (25.75 - 27 points), and Korean Business Administration (24 – 26.96 points). Meanwhile, the admission scores for the 2+2 international joint program range from 21 – 25.5 points.
Meanwhile, at the International University , 24 is the highest admission score. Of the 23 programs offered by the International University, four have the highest admission scores: Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, and Logistics and Supply Chain Management, all with an admission score of 24 points.
Additionally, the university's English Language major has a cutoff score of 34.5 points, and this is also a major with a cutoff score calculated on a 40-point scale (English score is multiplied by a factor of 2).
Most majors this year maintained similar cutoff scores to 2023, with some majors experiencing a slight decrease in cutoff scores compared to last year. The highest cutoff score in 2023 for the university was 25.25 points (Logistics and Supply Chain Management major).
With 22 joint training programs with foreign partners, the 2024 admission scores ranged from 18 to 21 points, except for the English Language joint programs, which were scored on a 40-point scale and had an admission score of 30. The specific admission scores for each program are as follows:
