The Department of Education and Training (DET) of Dak Lak province has just issued a notice of additional enrollment in grade 10 high school for the 2024-2025 school year, for 31 public schools. These are schools that recruit students through admission.

To recruit more students, the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province has "lowered" the standard scores of a series of schools. The standard scores of major schools were "lowered" from 1 to 2 points such as: Tran Dai Nghia High School (Buon Don district), lowered 2 points (from 31 to 29 points); Le Duan High School (Buon Ma Thuot City) also lowered 2 points, from 32 points to 30 points (additional condition is that the average score of the 9th grade semester is 6,9 points in case it is equal to the total admission score).

In addition, some schools had to lower 3-4 points, such as: Pham Van Dong High School (Krong Ana district), lowered 4 points (from 27 to 23 points); Nguyen Chi Thanh High School (Lak district), lowered from 28 to 25 points...

Parents withdraw applications to submit to another school

The Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province requires schools to notify students who meet additional admission scores to urgently complete admission procedures; For those who are not admitted to grade 10 of high school, the school instructs them to register to study the continuing education program at the high school level at the provincial continuing education center, the local Vocational Education and Continuing Education center or to study the culture of the high school level continuing education program combined with studying vocational schools at secondary schools, vocational colleges...

This is the second time the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province has decided to "lower" the standard score for entering grade 2 public schools. Previously, on July 10, this department "lowered" the standard scores of two exam schools in Buon Ma Thuot city. The "lowering" of the preparation score reflects that it was introduced quite late, causing chaos when the schools had already recruited students according to their plans and set targets. Hundreds of parents rushed to withdraw applications from the schools where they had submitted them. Many parents ran back and forth a lot, even putting pressure on them to withdraw their applications.

Like Tien Phong reflects, this is the first year Dak Lak province enrolls students in grade 10 according to two forms of entrance exam and admission, but the plan was issued quite late (April 2).

There are 12 public schools that organize entrance exams; Including 3 specialized schools that have held the exam for many years, the remaining 9 high schools are holding the exam for the first time. As a result, 7/9 schools had standard scores of only 5-6 points for 3 subjects, but still did not recruit enough targets. The Department of Education and Training asked and received permission from the People's Committee to enroll about 1.100 additional students. The enrollment work of the Dak Lak Education and Training sector shows passivity, slow response, and the more troublesome it becomes.
