Reporter : What inspired you (Khanh Trang) and Le Van Hy to compose the songs "First Moment" and "Singing Street"?
- LE VAN HY: Khanh Trang and I have spent nearly four decades studying, living, and working in Ho Chi Minh City. We want to bring the hustle and bustle, the vibrancy, and yet the simplicity of Saigon - Ho Chi Minh City into "Singing Street". Many beautiful couples have found love and found their partners in this dynamic and happy city, and this is reflected in "The First Moment".

Do you have any unforgettable memories of Ho Chi Minh City? Is it easy or difficult to compose a song about Ho Chi Minh City?
- LE VAN HY: I have many memories of Ho Chi Minh City, but perhaps the most impressive and unforgettable is the vibrant energy of its people. Everyone has different perspectives and opinions, and for me, composing music about Ho Chi Minh City is not easy, because this city is so rich in emotion and history. To write a song that is considered good and reflects the soul of the city requires the artist to truly understand and love this city.
Khánh Trang is currently working at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music . Does she have faith in the current generation of young musicians and singers participating in songwriting competitions about the city to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country?
- KHANH TRANG: As the generation inheriting the cultural traditions and glorious history of the nation, today's young people have all the conditions to continue, preserve, and develop those beautiful values with freshness in their souls, with the voice and breath of the times, and the creativity of youth... through the language of music .
We can have hope and place our trust in the younger generation of musicians and singers in songwriting competitions, especially those focusing on traditional and historical themes of the nation, such as the meaningful songwriting campaign organized by the Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper.

How can songs about Ho Chi Minh City reach a wider audience, especially young people?
- LE VAN HY: To achieve that, the song needs to reflect the rhythm of modern urban life, the psychology of urban youth, and the spirit of the times. It should reflect the constant changes and movements of the living environment, emerging cultural trends, and the aesthetic tastes of the music-loving public. Furthermore, introduction and dissemination through media platforms and social networks are also very important. With the development of technology, musical products will have more opportunities to reach people everywhere.
What are your expectations from the "The Nation's Complete Joy" songwriting contest organized by the Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper ?
- LE VAN HY: The songwriting contest "The Nation's Complete Joy" is an extremely meaningful event, not only to commemorate and pay tribute to our ancestors and fallen heroes for the independence and freedom of the nation, but also as an opportunity for us to look back at the great achievements that the country in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular have achieved over the past nearly 50 years.
I envision this campaign creating a vibrant wave of creative work, reflecting the distinctive values and innovative spirit of Ho Chi Minh City. It's an opportunity to awaken national pride in every citizen, so that we can all work together towards a brighter future, where music is a bridge, a common language for everyone.
The songwriting contest "The Nation's Complete Joy," organized by the Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, aims to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and the Reunification of the Country (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025). The Organizing Committee will select 20 outstanding works for the final round. The final round will take place in February 2025. During the submission and preliminary screening period, the Organizing Committee will select the best works to be staged and presented at the 30th Mai Vang Awards ceremony (around January 2025). The Organizing Committee will also post the works on the newspaper's social media platforms to introduce them to the community.
