On November 18th, the organizing committee of the 2nd Binh Phuoc Marathon – Truong Tuoi Group 2024 held a press conference ahead of the race. The event is organized by Binh Phuoc Radio and Television Station and Newspaper, in coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Binh Phuoc Provincial Youth Union, and the People's Committee of Dong Xoai City. Truong Tuoi Group Joint Stock Company is the main sponsor of the race.
The two ambassadors for the race, 'the king of Vietnamese marathon' Hoang Nguyen Thanh and SEA Games 31 bronze medalist Hoang Thi Ngoc Hoa, introduced the medals of this year's race.
The 2nd Binh Phuoc Marathon - Truong Tuoi Group, with the message "The Run of Green Warriors," was inaugurated on the evening of November 23rd at Dong Xoai City Square and took place on the morning of November 24th. The event attracted over 10,000 athletes, tourists, and spectators from both domestic and international locations (twice the number from the first season). The race included five distances: 5 km, 10 km, 21 km, and 42 km, for professional athletes from Vietnam and abroad; regular sports enthusiasts; running groups; students; and more. Notably, this year's race also included a 2 km distance for children.
The route is 42 km long.
The prizes are divided into two categories: professional and amateur, for the 21 km and 42 km distances. Notably, there are prizes for clubs/teams/groups with the most registered members; prizes for children; and a special prize for cosplay.
Ms. Duong Thi Thao, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Xoai City, said that the event is an opportunity for the city to promote its strengths to investors and people nationwide. It is also an opportunity for athletes and people from all over the country to experience the beautiful routes through the inner city of Dong Xoai, Suoi Cam Lake, and enjoy local cuisine , including famous OCOP products. This will surely leave many unforgettable impressions on athletes and tourists.
