Flexible and creative in performing tasks.
Late in the afternoon, while receiving used batteries from residents, Mr. Vo Van Hoa, Head of the Front Committee of Ha Phuoc residential area (Bac Nha Trang ward), received a call from a ward official needing to verify population information. Mr. Hoa immediately opened his contact list, searched for a few seconds, and then clearly read out the full name of the household head along with other relevant information. He shared: “The phone helps me keep track of the entire area with 406 households and 1,650 residents. Each household head's phone number is saved with a 'like' icon; all members of the same household are saved with a shared icon and detailed biographical information.” He also learned and created videos on his phone, sometimes warning about the risk of explosions from mini gas cylinders, other times reminding people to be wary of scams. He invented a device to help display the national flag, recording each step and sending it to the residential area's Zalo group to share. When he saw litter in the alley, he recorded it and sent it to the group to remind residents. He also sent information and images appealing for help for those in need, and thanked supporters with letters. To date, the Zalo group has attracted more than 700 members, becoming an effective channel connecting local officials with residents in the residential area.

Mr. Hoa has been the head of the residential group since 2021, right after his retirement; then he took on the role of Head of the Fatherland Front Committee from 2024. Explaining why he hasn't rested in his twilight years, Mr. Hoa smiled: "After retirement, if I don't participate and keep up with social trends, I will become stagnant and my health will decline. Participating in grassroots activities helps both myself and the people." In the two years from 2024 to 2025, he mobilized support for disadvantaged households, providing nearly 90 mini fire extinguishers, 5.2 tons of rice, and many other gifts and cash. From February 2025 to the present, he has mobilized the collection of nearly 40kg of used batteries; and promptly organized fundraising to help people affected by floods in November 2025. He also actively supports people in integrating information on the VNeID application. With his approachable and dedicated nature, he is affectionately called "the cheerful Brother Ba" by the people.
In Phuoc Thanh Residential Area 1 (Nam Nha Trang Ward), Ms. Mai Thi Hong Le, the head of the residential area, is trusted and loved by the people for her sense of responsibility, flexibility, and approachable manner. During the Covid-19 pandemic, Ms. Le proactively provided timely support for the essential needs of residents during the quarantine period, from assisting with banking transactions and telecommunications to receiving and distributing food and necessities. After the pandemic, she actively went door-to-door to encourage people to install the VNeID application at level 2; and participated in the "Digital Literacy Movement"... In 2022, she encouraged households to install more than 160 cameras and coordinated the installation of 18 security cameras in the neighborhood, contributing to maintaining security and order and significantly reducing theft in the area.
Enthusiastic and deeply involved with the grassroots.
On weekends, the small house of Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhung, head of Phuoc Binh residential group (Nam Nha Trang ward), is usually busier than usual. Hearing Ms. Nhung announce the amount of money raised, the members of the "Circle of Love" model are excited, thinking about a more comfortable Tet holiday for underprivileged children. After 5 years of implementation, the "Circle of Love" model founded by Ms. Nhung has provided 9 health insurance cards to poor women; awarded 84 scholarships to poor students who overcome difficulties; supported people affected by natural disasters and epidemics; and given many gifts to women and children with disabilities or serious illnesses, with a total expenditure of tens of millions of VND. From just over 10 members, the model has now attracted 61 women participants. Ms. Nhung shared: “If each person saves just 1,000 VND per day, gradually we will have a fund to carry out these activities. Some people even contribute for four consecutive quarters. My family of three participates in every effort.” In addition, Ms. Nhung initiated the “Sharing One Heart” model, giving gifts to families in difficult circumstances and those suffering from serious illnesses; and the “Security Camera” model, which involved installing five cameras on several key roads, contributing to maintaining security and order and promoting the spirit of mutual support and compassion within the community.

Joining Ms. Bui Thi Phi Thuong, Head of the Front Committee of Thai Nguyen Residential Area (Nha Trang Ward), on a survey trip to the De Po area, we observed significant positive changes. Once a complex area in terms of security and order, it has now clearly improved. Having been involved in neighborhood work for 27 years, Ms. Thuong is always deeply connected to the community, "going from street to street, knocking on every door," not only patiently explaining things to residents but also actively participating in all tasks at all times and in all places. She is present at every family's joyous or sorrowful occasion, offering support and condolences. For those facing difficulties, she actively seeks out resources and assistance. In 2020, she proposed the "Women with the Parishioners" model, bringing together parishioners to disseminate the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws, share experiences in building families, visit those in need, and clean up the environment. In 2025, the model was renamed "Parishioners Joining Hands to Build a Cultural Life in Residential Areas," attracting more than 70 members, contributing to strengthening solidarity, maintaining security and order, and building civilized residential areas.

Residential Area 1 Hoang Dieu (Nha Trang Ward) has also changed its appearance after the Front Committee implemented the "Self-governing residential cluster for environmental protection" model from April 2025. Accordingly, the residential area is divided into four clusters, each with a member of the committee in charge. Mr. Nguy Van Tu, Head of the Front Committee of the residential area, said that every day, the committee mobilizes households to clean around their homes; on the last Sunday of each month, they organize a "Green, Clean, and Beautiful Sunday." Information about activities is sent to a Zalo group to remind people to raise their awareness of maintaining environmental hygiene and not encroaching on sidewalks and roads for trading. Mr. Tu said he will advise the Party branch to register to build a model of "Skilled People's Mobilization" to promote the self-governance role of women and the elderly in building a cultural residential area. "Starting from the people, relying on the people, and promoting the self-governance role of the people, anything can be done," Mr. Tu shared.
