A Thụ, a young girl from the Gié-Triêng ethnic group, actively strives to improve her knowledge.

These children always hope that knowledge will help them reach further, fulfill their dreams of escaping poverty, and contribute to their homeland and village.

Overcoming difficulties and excelling in studies.

A Thụ, a Gié-Triêng ethnic minority student (9th grade, Dak Duc Primary and Secondary School, Dak Duc commune, Ngoc Hoi district, Kon Tum province), was born into a poor family. The family owns only a few acres of land for farming, so her parents have to work as laborers to support their family of four.

Not wanting to be plagued by poverty in the future, A Thu recognized the importance of education and strived to improve her knowledge. For difficult assignments, A Thu sought additional guidance from her teachers to master the material. Outside of class, A Thu helped her parents with household chores, tended cattle, or worked odd jobs. Despite the hardships, her diligent studies over the years have consistently earned her the title of excellent and advanced student at her school. In the 2023-2024 school year, A Thu excelled, winning second prize in Biology at the provincial-level Grade 9 student competition.

Similarly, Y Ha Giang, a Gie-Trieng ethnic minority student (class 5A6, Dak Duc Primary and Secondary School), has been an outstanding student for the past five years and possesses a strong will to succeed in life. Her passion for reading, especially books about history and President Ho Chi Minh, has helped her gain knowledge and understand the hardships and sacrifices of national heroes in defending the country. In the "Children's Book Promotion and Introduction Contest of Ngoc Hoi District 2024," Y Ha Giang presented the book "70 Years of the Dien Bien Phu Campaign's Complete Victory" and won third prize.

“My family is in difficult circumstances, so my parents work hard to support our education. I will try my best to study well and not let down my family's love and sacrifices. My dream is to become a primary school teacher to teach literacy to underprivileged children in my hometown,” Y Ha Giang confided.

Living in the border commune of Pờ Y (Ngọc Hồi district) with limited economic resources, Đinh Thúy Hiệp, a Mường ethnic girl (4th grade, Bế Văn Đàn Primary School), has had a special passion for English since childhood. To improve her reading and writing skills, Hiệp always pays close attention to lectures and studies independently at home.

Thanks to his hard work and the help of his teachers, Hiep is quite proficient in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. With his efforts, Hiep participated in and won third prize in the district-level English Talent Competition in the 2023-2024 school year. Furthermore, for the past four years, he has consistently been an outstanding student at his school.

Received a Letter of Commendation from the Provincial Party Secretary.

Born and raised in a farming family in Hamlet 1 (Tan Lap Commune, Kon Ray District, Kon Tum Province), Mai Thi Xuan Huyen, a Xo Dang ethnic minority student (Class 12A, Chu Van An High School), has always been aware of the need to strive in her studies to improve her life.

Having heard many stories about President Ho Chi Minh since childhood, I greatly admire the willpower and resilience of this great national leader in overcoming difficulties and hardships. President Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style are the motivation for me to strive harder and be more active in my studies, to become a good child and a good student, and to be a useful person for my homeland and country.

To fulfill her dream of becoming a police officer, Xuan Huyen proactively created a scientific schedule. She always prepared her lessons before class and paid close attention to her teachers' lectures, actively participating in class discussions and group debates. Besides focusing on her studies in class, Xuan Huyen also self-studied in her free time through online groups and forums.

Thanks to her hard work and dedication, Xuan Huyen has achieved the title of excellent student for 12 consecutive years. She also won second prize in the "Provincial Science and Technology Competition, 2022-2023" and in Literature at the "Provincial Selection Exam for Excellent 12th-Grade Students, 2023-2024".

Moreover, Xuan Huyen was honored to receive a Letter of Commendation from the Secretary of the Kon Tum Provincial Party Committee for her outstanding achievements in studying and following the ideology, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh in 2024.

"I was surprised and happy to receive the Letter of Commendation from the Provincial Party Secretary. I will try my best to study and improve myself further to achieve good results in the 2024 High School Graduation Exam, so as not to disappoint everyone's hopes and expectations," Xuan Huyen confided.

Mr. Phan Thanh Nhat – Principal of Chu Van An High School – commented that Huyen is very diligent and proactive in her studies. Thanks to this, Huyen consistently leads her class in academic results and actively participates in extracurricular activities and school movements. Furthermore, Huyen and her classmates actively promote the study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style among all students. Huyen deserves to be a role model of a student following President Ho Chi Minh's teachings, serving as an example for students and youth union members both inside and outside the school to learn from and emulate.

According to Mr. Kieu Quoc Tuong, Head of the Education and Training Department of Ngoc Hoi District, to encourage students' learning spirit, especially those from ethnic minority groups, the department has actively mobilized businesses and philanthropists to contribute to the "Scholarship Fund" over the years. Funds from this fund are used to award scholarships to ethnic minority students who overcome difficulties and excel academically. Since the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year, the department, in coordination with the District Youth Union and the Association for the Promotion of Learning, has awarded hundreds of scholarships, bicycles, and school supplies to disadvantaged ethnic minority students in the area.
