Results and future directions

In an atmosphere of friendship and trust, both sides reaffirmed their determination to support and further strengthen the special traditional solidarity, friendship, and cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba, as well as the important role of parliamentary cooperation in consolidating and promoting the special solidarity between the two countries.

The leaders of the two parliaments listened to reports from representatives of the two countries' parliaments and the Vietnam-Cuba Intergovernmental Committee on the state of bilateral cooperation between the two countries, proposed solutions, and suggested amendments and additions to policies and laws to help overcome difficulties and obstacles, and improve the effectiveness of bilateral cooperation, especially in economics , finance, trade, and investment.

Members of parliament from both sides exchanged views and shared experiences in developing and improving policies and laws, promoting bilateral cooperation in the fields of economics, finance, investment, energy, science, technology, and health, in accordance with the conditions and circumstances of each country; they also discussed and evaluated the achievements and proposed measures to improve the effectiveness of the cooperation agreements signed between the two countries.

Both sides affirmed the necessity of expanding inter-parliamentary relations between Vietnam and Cuba, agreeing to strengthen close coordination both bilaterally and in international and regional forums, enhance coordination capacity, promote and regularly monitor activities, and effectively implement cooperation documents signed between the two countries.

Cuban National Assembly President Esteban Lazo Hernández and Vietnamese National Assembly Vice President Nguyen Duc Hai highlighted the results of cooperation between Cuba and Vietnam in the past period, and highly appreciated the practical and effective contents of the first session of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee between the two countries' National Assemblies.

Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai thanked the National Assembly and the People's Government of Cuba for the warm welcome extended to the Vietnamese National Assembly delegation and conveyed the invitation from the Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly, Tran Thanh Man, to his Cuban counterpart, Esteban Lazo Hernández, to lead a Cuban National Assembly delegation to attend the second session of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee in Vietnam.
