A SMALL, SAFE HOME FOR THE FUTURE

Ms. Cil K'Thao, a resident of Lieng Trang 1 village, Da Tong commune, Dam Rong district, was holding her 5-month-old youngest son while happily admiring the newly completed small house. In just a few days, she and her 3 younger siblings will be able to move into the spacious new house that has just been built. The 28-year-old mother shared: “My family lives in an old wooden house left by my parents, now it is degraded, when it rains, the water overflows, it is damp and unsanitary. Luckily, the Electricity Corporation sponsored 60 million VND, the family added 15 million VND to buy construction materials. My husband and his brothers, and the villagers built the house themselves, after more than a month of construction, the house is now completed. Dam Rong Electricity announced that tomorrow they will come down and install a free electricity system for the family. So in just a few days, my husband, I and our children will be able to move into a new, spacious, clean house. My family is very grateful to the electricity industry, the local government, and the villagers for supporting our family to have a safe, clean and beautiful home.”

The joy of Ms. Cil K'Thao is also the joy of many residents of Da Tong. Mr. Da Cat Ha Bieng, Da Nhinh 1 village, Da Tong commune has a family with 5 children, including a disabled child, making the economy extremely difficult. The old, cramped wooden house makes his children suffer from leaks when Dam Rong enters the rainy season in the highlands. Therefore, when receiving support funds to build a house from the Southern Power Corporation, he and his family were extremely happy. He said that his family had saved for several years, but with many children, the amount of money saved was not much. Receiving 60 million, he contributed an additional 20 million to build a more spacious, clean, and comfortable house for the children to have a safe place to live.

Mr. Hoang Manh Huynh - Secretary of the Party Committee of Da Tong commune said that the commune has just completed the construction of a new rural commune, and residents' income has gradually improved. However, housing for the people still has some difficulties. "In 2025, implementing the policy of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, Da Tong was assigned a budget to eliminate 53 temporary houses, each house costing 60 million VND. And with the support of the Southern Power Corporation to support 10 more houses, the whole commune has basically eliminated all temporary and dilapidated houses, completing the housing criteria in the set of criteria for building a new rural commune".

WARM SONG OF SOLIDARITY

Not only is it a matter of financial support for people to build houses, the shelters also sing a song about sharing, neighborly love, and mutual support among residents.

Mr. Pang Ting Ha Duc, Da Nhinh 1 village, Da Tong 1 commune, is helping Da Cat Ha Bieng's family make floor tiles. Both Mr. Ha Duc and Ha Bieng received support from the electricity industry to build new houses. Instead of hiring outside workers, the houses were built by the hands of the villagers themselves. They took turns building each house, making each door, and exchanging labor to complete the work. Mr. Ha Duc said: "Today, we make floor tiles for Mr. Bieng's house, tomorrow they will come to my house, and the houses will be finished one by one. Doing it ourselves saves money and is faster, and every house has a new house." The hands of the villagers helped each house to be built quickly.

“The wages are also very high, a burden for families. Therefore, the commune also encourages families to help each other, exchange labor to build houses. The Military Command organized site clearance, and residents in the commune also contributed over 20 million to further support the families,” Mr. Hoang Manh Huynh informed. Mr. Huynh is proud that the solidarity of Da Tong residents helped the construction of 63 new houses to take place quickly and economically, a beautiful mark for the village relationship.

Mr. Tran Nhat Duy - Chairman of the Lam Dong Electricity Company's Trade Union said that the electricity industry always identifies the spirit of solidarity with the development of the locality. In addition to ensuring electricity supply for production and daily life, the electricity industry also identifies to support residents to improve their lives, including activities to join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. In 2025, the Southern Power Corporation donated 900 million VND through the Vietnam Fatherland Front to hand over to the people of Da Tong, Da Long, and Lieng Sronh communes of Dam Rong district. The electricity industry will continue to accompany and unite with the people in all localities of the province with the goal of a sustainable community.
