Implementing the "Digital Literacy Movement," since January 2026, the Women's Union of Hoang Van Thu commune has deployed the "Digital Ambassador" model with 20 members who are union officials and members with technological skills. Following the motto "those with more knowledge guide those without," the members focus on supporting union members and the public in accessing digital platforms and using online public services.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Dieu, Vice Chairwoman of the Fatherland Front Committee and Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Hoang Van Thu commune, said: "Most women members in the area use smartphones, but their skills in utilizing digital tools are still limited. Therefore, the Union has focused on supporting members in accessing and effectively utilizing digital applications to serve their lives, studies, and economic development. When they master technology, women not only have more convenience in their daily lives but also have more opportunities for online business, increasing their income."
The Women's Union of Hoang Van Thu commune has over 3,000 members. In 2026, the union aims to achieve the following goals: 100% of members will receive education to raise awareness about digital transformation; over 70% of members will know how to use smartphones for daily life; and the rate of using online public services and cashless payments will reach 50% or more.
To ensure the "Digital Ambassadors" team is truly effective, the Women's Union of the commune organized intensive training courses. The training content focused not only on skills in using digital platforms and applying technology in daily life but also equipped participants with methods for guiding and supporting people in accessing the digital environment. After the training, the members directly went to the local area to guide members. At branch meetings, neighborhood meetings, or in individual households, the "Digital Ambassadors" patiently guided members through basic operations such as connecting to the internet, installing applications, creating accounts, and using digital platforms and online transactions. Many members, who previously only used their phones for calls, have learned to search for information, make cashless payments, use digital applications to serve their lives, and promote products in the electronic environment.
For example, Ms. Loc Thi Thu Trang from Na Leng village. Previously, her family's agricultural products were mainly sold at the market, and she often had to bring them back because sales were slow. Since being guided by members of the "Digital Ambassador" model on how to take photos and promote products on social media platforms like Zalo and Facebook, the number of customers has increased significantly. As a result, her family's agricultural products have a more stable market. Similarly, Ms. Au Thi Phuong from Kho Da village said: Although I had installed digital banking applications, I hardly used them before because I was worried about online scams. With guidance from the women in the association on identifying risks, protecting personal information, and using digital applications safely, I am more confident when conducting online transactions, especially cashless payments.
From the beginning of 2026 to the present, members of the "Digital Ambassador" model in Hoang Van Thu commune have disseminated information and provided guidance to over 3,000 members and residents in the commune. Of these, over 2,000 have acquired basic digital skills; 100% of members are proficient in using smartphones for daily life; and the cashless payment rate has reached approximately 70%. In addition, more than 300 members have successfully used several online public services. Many women and residents have begun promoting their specialty agricultural products on e-commerce platforms and social media.
In practice, the "Digital Ambassador" model in Hoang Van Thu commune is proving to be highly effective, becoming a bridge connecting digital technology to the people. Through the implementation of this model, women's association members not only help each other improve their digital skills but also contribute to spreading digital conveniences into daily life, promoting the development of the digital economy, and building a digital society from the grassroots level.
