These silent "messengers" connect knowledge.

More than just book keepers, librarians at the Lao Cai Provincial Cultural, Arts, and Sports Center are silent "ambassadors" connecting knowledge and nurturing a reading culture. Behind the image of neatly arranged books or the mobile library bustling with laughter are the sweat and dedication of those who have chosen to devote themselves to this work.

The work of librarians is like a strong bridge, bringing the treasure of knowledge to the community in the most vibrant way. For librarians, each book is not just a document but also a precious gift of life, cherished and valued with all their passion and burning love for their profession.

Books have become more accessible to readers.

Today, the role of librarians is no longer simply about lending or traditional manual record-keeping. They have dramatically transformed into true information experts.

With the support of modern library management software systems, librarians today not only help readers optimally access online data but also realize the convenient and accurate organization of the scientific knowledge repository.

"Besides professional expertise, to stay committed to this job, we all need to be diligent, meticulous, and most importantly, have a love for books," librarian Nguyen Thi Hong confided.

Driven by that passion, and with over 20 years dedicated to the craft, Ms. Hong has quietly breathed life into books through the art of model building. For her, each piece is not just for decoration, but also a bridge to bring knowledge closer to the public.

Through meticulous attention to detail and subtle color coordination, she transformed dull bookshelves into vibrant works of art, brightening up book fairs and fostering a reading culture within the community.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong has been involved in the art of book arrangement for many years.

The job of a librarian requires not only intellectual ability but also immense patience and intense concentration. Beyond preservation, cataloging, indexing, and research, librarians must also understand the psychology of all their clients.

That is, elementary school children prefer picture books with few words and many vivid illustrations; teenagers favor psychology and science books; researchers need in-depth books; and middle-aged people are passionate about classic literature... The joy of librarians is simple: seeing readers come to them for books every day.

To meet the growing needs of readers in the digital age, the Lao Cai Provincial Center for Culture, Arts and Sports has proactively implemented diverse service types, from in-person at the library to mobile services and online services.

With continuous efforts to improve service quality, the unit attracts more than 200,000 readers each year, and utilizes over 520,000 information resources effectively.

A highlight of the center's activities is its strong innovation in approaching young readers. Through drawing contests, storytelling based on books, writing book reviews, and intellectual games with prizes, the center has contributed to igniting a passion for reading and building a solid foundation of reading culture for students from their early years in school. Books are not only introduced directly but also on social media platforms...

The library sector is undergoing a digital transformation, serving both traditional and online reading formats. Therefore, librarians must continuously learn and improve their skills and expertise to keep pace with job requirements and better meet the needs of readers.

Librarians now work not only in the library but also bring books to readers. For many years, the mobile library model has become an important bridge to knowledge. With over 200 service sessions per year, the center not only covers communes and wards but also expands to remote, mountainous, and border areas. These mobile library trips are also linked to significant political and cultural events such as the Dong Cuong Temple Festival, the Thuong Temple Festival, and the National Border Guard Day.

The work of librarians requires patience and attention to detail.

To create a scientific and engaging reading space within the limited area of a mobile library, the library staff dedicated considerable effort to every step, from selecting to arranging the books.

Librarian Nguyen Thi Kim Tuyen shared: "Although the mobile service trips are tiring, seeing the bright smiles of the children makes us forget all the fatigue."

It is the dedication of those working in this profession that has transformed these otherwise dull journeys into vibrant treasure troves of knowledge, igniting a passion for reading and opening up new horizons for people at each stop.

With love and responsibility, librarians have been diligently sowing the seeds of knowledge. The dedication of these passionate librarians at the Lao Cai Provincial Cultural, Arts, and Sports Center, along with the support of the community, is a vivid testament to the enduring vitality of reading culture.
