Positive changes among ethnic minority communities.

Báo Đại Đoàn KếtBáo Đại Đoàn Kết06/12/2024

Thanks to the timely and coordinated implementation of ethnic policies, the socio-economic life of ethnic minority and mountainous communities in Muong Lat district (Thanh Hoa province) has seen positive changes in recent years. In particular, the district has accelerated the implementation of Project 1, supporting poor households in building houses, acquiring land for housing, and providing land for production among ethnic minorities.

Muong Lat District is currently implementing 10 projects under the National Target Program 1719, with a total central government allocation of over 163 billion VND in the first eight months of 2024. To date, the district has disbursed over 83 billion VND, reaching 51% of the allocated capital, with many projects showing clear effectiveness in improving the lives of people in remote areas.

For example, Project 1, the housing support program for 2024, was allocated 880 million VND by the district to build 22 houses meeting the "three solid" standards: solid foundation, solid wall frame, and solid roof. In Pù Nhi commune alone, 3 households have received housing support, with one household currently under construction and 2 households preparing for foundation inspection. Nhi Sơn commune has 4 households, with foundations completed and 50% of the funding disbursed. Trung Lý commune has 6 newly started projects; Mường Lát town is supporting 9 households, with 70% of the funding disbursed.

Thanks to the synchronized implementation of the National Target Program for Poverty Reduction, 100% of communes and towns in the district have received increased investment in infrastructure, improving access to basic services and ensuring social security. As a result, the poverty rate in Muong Lat has decreased significantly, from 55.8% in 2021 to approximately 39% in 2024. Average per capita income has reached over 25 million VND/year, and the material and spiritual lives of the people have improved significantly.

It can be seen that the National Target Program 1719 and sustainable poverty reduction not only help improve people's lives but also create a solid foundation for socio-economic development.
