Speaking at the congress, Ho Chi Minh City Party Secretary Tran Luu Quang emphasized: “The spirit of openness and willingness to correct oneself is the most important path for the Fatherland Front and the political system to win the hearts of the people. The satisfaction, happiness, and trust of the people are the clearest measure of the effectiveness of our work.” This is the benchmark throughout the new term. It is also the core guiding principle of General Secretary To Lam when he delivered his directive speech at the First Congress of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front and Central Mass Organizations, term 2025-2030, on the morning of September 23rd: “Every resolution and action program must answer: What practical benefits will it bring to the people, to each vulnerable group, and to each specific community?”
A highlight of this Congress is the clear emergence of the "magnet" mindset. In the context of Ho Chi Minh City entering a new phase of development, where growth must be not only rapid but also sustainable, the Fatherland Front must become the central hub connecting social resources. This "magnet" lies not in individual incentives or physical infrastructure, but in social trust and the strength of national unity. This role is even clearer as the city continuously mobilizes resources to support people in Central and Northern Vietnam in overcoming recent natural disasters. In times of hardship, the spirit of solidarity and national unity is strongly affirmed.
Furthermore, the new term demands breakthroughs in innovating operational methods. The emergence of the Digital Front Portal, the digital map of people's lives, and the digital social security application are advancements not only in technology but also in measuring effectiveness. When people's opinions are received 24/7, when social security is quantified by data, and when dialogue with the people becomes a regular activity, the Front will operate in accordance with the spirit of: easy to understand - easy to remember - easy to implement; clear objectives - clear responsibilities - clear deadlines; measurable inputs - measurable outputs - measurable impacts.
Along with innovative thinking and working methods, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City is entrusted with the responsibility of supervising important projects, especially the implementation of Resolution 98 of the National Assembly ; supervising public service ethics and the spirit of serving the people of the team of officials and civil servants...
Based on those expectations, the Vietnam Fatherland Front has become a central hub for gathering the wisdom and strength of all strata: intellectuals, scientists and technologists, entrepreneurs, religious leaders, ethnic minorities, and overseas Vietnamese. This involves mobilizing the intellectual strength, experience, and sense of responsibility of the entire society for the development of the city.
A civilized, modern, and compassionate Ho Chi Minh City is not built solely by budgets or projects, but by the proactive participation of every citizen and business. Therefore, the requirement for courageous self-improvement is not only for the Fatherland Front organization, but for each Fatherland Front official. When each Fatherland Front official lives by that spirit, every movement yields "visible" results, and every program creates a clear impact, then social trust will naturally grow. And this growth will become the strongest and most enduring "magnet," attracting resources and intellect for the city's development.
