Nintendo Switch 2 release delayed until 2025

According to VGC , a source from Brazilian journalist Pedro Henrique Lutti Lippe revealed that the Nintendo Switch 2, the successor to the popular Nintendo Switch console, is likely to launch later than expected, with the current release date possibly being in the first quarter of 2025.

This information was shared by Lippe in a new video on the OX do Controle channel, based on information gathered from five separate sources. The sources indicate they are developing a game aimed at launching in Q1 2025 alongside a new console, instead of the original target of late 2024.

Nintendo Switch 2 is highly likely to be delayed until 2025.

The gaming website Eurogamer has also confirmed that the Switch 2 will launch in Q1 2025. "The console launch will take place early next year – but still within the next fiscal year – to ensure the Switch 2 launch lineup includes as many titles as possible," Eurogamer stated.

Additionally, Bloomberg confirmed this news through its own sources. "According to people familiar with the company, Nintendo is informing game publishers that its next-generation console will be delayed until the early months of 2025," Bloomberg reported. "Nintendo has told several executives that they shouldn't expect the device to be released before March 2025."

Following widespread rumors of delays throughout the gaming industry, VGC received information from multiple sources indicating that Nintendo had informed game publishers that its new console would launch in Q1 2025.

According to sources, third-party companies have recently been informed of an internal delay in the launch of Nintendo's new Switch console, from late 2024 to early next year. This delay is reportedly intended to allow Nintendo to prepare the most extensive set of proprietary software possible.

Many sources predict that the Nintendo Switch 2 will most likely follow a similar timeline to its predecessor, meaning it will be released around March.
