After graduating from the People's Police College in 2017, Lieutenant Le Hoang Vu was assigned to work at Hoa Tho Tay Ward Police Station, where he has been working ever since. Throughout his career, Lieutenant Vu has always strived to successfully complete all assigned tasks. In 2024, he was elected to the position of Secretary of the Ward Police Station's Youth Union. Recognizing that some students were facing difficult circumstances and were at risk of dropping out of school, in September 2024, he launched the "Lighting Up Dreams" model to support these children in attending school.
For example, Ly Ha Thu (Hoa Tho Tay ward), a 9th-grade student, is an orphan whose father passed away and whose mother suffers from mental illness. Her house is located in an alley, is dilapidated, and leaks during the rainy season. Given this situation, Lieutenant Vu mobilized officers and soldiers in his unit to build a concrete road leading to her house, install two streetlights, repair the house, and donate many school supplies to help her feel secure attending school. Similarly, Tran Dinh Minh Khang and Tran Anh Kiet (Hoa Tho Tay ward) received long-term scholarships, computers, and many essential items to support their studies and training.
During the annual rainy season, Lieutenant Le Hoang Vu helps residents in areas 6, 7, and 8 of Hoa Tho Tay ward to reach safe shelters and clean up mud and debris after the storm. In addition, he collaborates with schools to organize legal awareness and education sessions; implements environmental cleanup campaigns and builds civilized roads; handles citizen identification card applications at students' homes; and participates in exam support programs.
In his professional work, he closely monitors the local area, maintains a firm grasp of the security and order situation in residential areas, and directly investigates and handles many cases of law violations. For example, on September 20, 2024, he discovered and apprehended three individuals stealing iron from the Hoa Vang Martyrs' Memorial. For many years, Lieutenant Le Hoang Vu has been recognized for outstanding performance; he has received two commendations from the Ministry of Public Security and numerous certificates of merit from the Director of the City Police.
At Hoa Ninh Commune Police Station, Captain Tran Thi Ngoc Thu is one of the exemplary young female officers, constantly striving and dedicating herself to the peace and security of the locality and the satisfaction of the people. Captain Tran Thi Ngoc Thu undertakes many tasks such as advisory, logistics and technical support, public asset management, citizen reception, and handling administrative procedures. In 2024, she received and processed 400 motorcycle registration applications; and simultaneously implemented the QR code scanning initiative to help people access information on administrative procedures quickly and conveniently. She also exceeded the assigned target for guiding people to activate level 2 electronic identification on the VneID application.
As a female officer seconded to participate in the "Traffic Police Officer in Charge of Commune-Level Areas" model, Captain Tran Thi Ngoc Thu surveyed and developed six proposed plans to address traffic hotspots in the area. In addition, she actively promoted traffic safety at schools and residential areas, maintaining the effectiveness of the "Peaceful School Gate" model. In her role as Secretary of the Commune Police Youth Union, Captain Ngoc Thu organized many meaningful charitable activities such as "Spring of Love" and "Tet Reunion"; she mobilized donations and presented hundreds of gifts to poor households and children receiving treatment at hospitals. She received recognition and awards from various levels, including the title of Advanced Officer in 2024, and certificates of merit from the Director of the City Police and the Hoa Ninh Commune Youth Union in 2024.
On April 8th, Senior Lieutenant Le Hoang Vu and Captain Tran Thi Ngoc Thu were among the 10 outstanding individuals honored by the City Police with the "Outstanding Young Police Officer of the City" award for 2024. According to Lieutenant Colonel Ho Dinh Tri, Head of the Youth Committee of the City Police, Senior Lieutenant Le Hoang Vu and Captain Tran Thi Ngoc Thu are exemplary young officers who consistently demonstrate a sense of responsibility and dedication to their work, maintaining close ties with the people; proactively implementing many practical models and initiatives, contributing to building a positive image of police officers in the hearts of the people.
