Rearranging communication cables contributes to ensuring safety and urban aesthetics.
According to information from the Department of Science and Technology, the plan is that by 2025, the entire province will have over 18 km of main roads with dozens of cable lines upgraded in accordance with regulations on information cable management.
Information cable rearrangement activities focus on clearing and recovering unused and abandoned cables, and rearranging information cables to ensure traffic safety, power grid safety, fire safety, and environmental aesthetics; improving the quality of telecommunication services, and minimizing damage and impact during flood and storm seasons.
According to regulations, if, after 10 working days from the date of receiving the notification to reorganize the communication cables, the managing unit fails to cooperate in handling the issue, the managing units have the right to cut off the cables and will not be held responsible.
However, to ensure that the cable network restructuring is carried out thoroughly and effectively, in addition to strengthening inspections and handling of improperly suspended cables, especially addressing "black spots" of cables and newly installed cables that do not comply with regulations on roads already undergoing restructuring, a more decisive coordination from telecommunications companies is needed in implementing the undergrounding of telecommunications cables according to the plan, in order to ensure safety and urban aesthetics.
